I've had my scooby for just over 1 week. Yesterday I had;
A mini cooper driver tyring to 'get into my exaust pipe'. He must have been 1 inch from my bumper
On the M6 north bound. A Rover driver overtake me on the inside lane!!. Then slow down, speed up, slow down! (get the picture)
Whats all this about. Are people stupid. My wife now thinks the car BAD NEWS.

Sorry to say mate that you are in for that kind of thing quite a lot . Just the other day i had a boy racer in his little done up polo pull up beside me at the lights and he starts reving his little washing machine engine. WHAT A JOKE . I would not even think of giving him what he wants . Next thing the lights go green and he takes like a hare with a broken leg cuts in front of me and slows down again.
This is just one of the things that **** off us scooby owners.
Also keep a look out for the following -
CITROEN SAXO VTRS
BMW 318 S

Had my scoob a year now and never had any problems like that.
Don't have a big wing and gold wheels on mine though. I wanted to keep it low key so not to attract that sort of attention!

Driving a car like this attracts attention, I find alot of it has to with how you drive and how young you are! Get some teenagers in a Saxo VTR and they spot you the will be up your bumper and overtake you on the next blind bend - my answer - let them get on with it!

This is not something I have had a problem with either, and I have got a BIG wing and alloys!
Maybe its my age, 35, or the fact that I dont race other cars out of my class, ie: saxo man.

Same problem, you soon get used to it, seems to be the dick heads in there souped up novas etc round here and of cause the reps in there vactras/ mondeos as well. Thats one of the only problems with owning a scoob, they seems to attract ***** that want to give you a race, we all know the outcome, don't we

I don't think it's as much that they think that they're serious competition from the lights,i reckon that they just wanted to see an impreza rip past them as i certainly used to before i got one,i do have to say guys that you do yourself no favours in the eyes of other people taking the attitude that these people are all ********** because they drive a slower car and want to see a scooby rip from the lights,i'm sure they're thinking what most of us thought about the car before we bought one..."that's nice ,i wouldn't mind seeing that gun it from the lights " (even if it's a quick blat to 40 etc...)i've gunned it alongside enough much slower cars that were "game" to know that it's just a laugh in they're eyes so lighten up before someone gets the idea that we're arrogant and boring gits....

I remember being one of those kids ten years ago when the first scoobs appeared and a sighting was a rare thing. I used to "gun" my diesel 3 cylinder Daihatsu Charade at the lights to see what those scoobys could do. ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

2 people have told about being overtaken on the inside.

It isn't just drivers of Subaru's that have this problem, its anyone driving anything remotely big and fast looking that gets it.
I don't drive a Subaru, but I do have a large 3 litre turbo sporty type car and the Nova boys, the XR2 boys etc always try it on.
One word sums them up:
JEALOUSY
On day when they have grown out of their nappies they might be able to drive decent, larger proper cars (if they haven't wrapped themselves round a tree before then cos they concentrating too much on the larger engined car beside them)

I had a couple of idjits on my way to cornwall on the A30 saturday.
The road was pretty busy , but there's always one or 2 wanting to drive up your ****. Its not as if there was 2 miles of free road in front of me.
Lol, where can i buy "Prat Magnet" sticker to put on the bumper.

Had my Scooby nearly two years now and can honestly say i've never had a race with anyone or anyone attempt to race me other than down a motorway but as i won't go over a ton it's a bit off a non starter, especially when neither doing say 110/120 in a straight line nor the thought of losing my license really thrills me.
Must say coming home from work the other night though i was behind a new 911 and rather than go home i followed him past the turning for my house as i assumed he was heading out to my favourite piece of country lane and i thought i'd love to see if the old girl could even slightly keep up assuming he was up for it. Just as we approached the start of the lanes he pulled off into the last possible street which i'd like to think he did on purpose to avoid an immature Scooby driver stuck up his **** baiting him, but in reallity he probably lived down there coz that's where all the big posh houses are.
So i'm still raceless(probably thankfully!) and will remain so in my Scoob as she goes in a couple or three weeks

With regards to the quick blat to 40 mph.
What the hell are we supposed to do with the other 4/5 gears that us Scooby owners posess?
I find that in the Staffs area, the biggest ***** are nonces in their new mini that Daddy bought them.
Quick blat to 100 sorts that out, and then there's 4th and 5th !
Skoosh.

I do remember an occasion with a Ferrari F50. I saw it when parked up near Oulten park a few years ago when I had a Nissan 200sx, I must admit to jumping in the car, following it and trying to overtake it on a dual carrigeway as we came out of a 30 to a 60. He floored it and vanished ! (now that car was fast !)
So sorry, I was guilty once (bad boy)
Sometimes people just want to see what a fast car can do, try to smile. My EVO drew much the same attention.

I must admit you do get the odd goon who just wont leave you alone, Id like to think of myself as a sensible 23 year old owner.....i.e. i dont race anything and everything just for the hell of it especially novas/saxo's/corsas and the like (largely due to the cost of it!!) but if someone does annoy then sure, or if they insist of blatting past you then braking....as was the case with a 300ZX with 2 HUGE exhausts once coming out of portsmouth....
I guess my point it, most people have a respect for a performance car.....they want to test their machines against them.....i guess its just a case of if you can be bothered!
