I have a UK Turbo 2000 AWD 1999 V reg with ppp and when i was ringing round for insurance it was coming up as an RB5 on their databases. Any ideas?

Edited to say the car has full dealer service history.

Actually an RB5 shell was an STi body shell with a fixed rear bulkhead (rear seats dont fold) not the usual UK turbo shell. Also the RB5 came in two varieties a 215bhp version and the WR Sport version which as part of the WR sport pack and had the PPP and a big prodrive rear spolier and the WR Sport decals on the clocks.

Easy these impreza modela arent they .

That is most definitely NOT an RB5 unless you have had a respray or have a dodgy camera .

What does it say on your V5 as insurance companies pick up from a list issued by the DVLA with the model on it. If its wrong with the DVLA then all insurnace company info will be wrong as well.

A good test is get a quote from an oline insurnace company e.g. www.directline.co.uk as you put in your reg number and it automatically picks up the make and model. If it comes back RB5 then the records at the DVLA are probably wrong.

Assuming you have just had it when the V5 comes through send it back and tell them about the mistake.

The only complication is if its a full prodrive impreza. There were a few impreza designated as prodrive imprezas. For a car to be a prodrive impreza it must have all the prodrive packs fitted. i.e. prodrive interior pack, prodrive exterior pack and driver enhancement pack (strangely I dont think you needed the PPP fitted to be a prodrive impreza). These packs must be specified when the car was new. It should have the relevant paperwork to support these packs being fitted.

If you have no such paperwork then only your dealer cn help you and should be able to tell you the history.

The only reason I mention the prodrive impreza is that I see the car has a lot of non-standard parts i.e. wheels, driving lamps, rear spoiler and side protection strips.

Red face

This isn't a phone you know 16vmarc, you can use the full alphabet and real words on a BBS, it makes for easier reading and is more likely to provoke someone taking time out to answer your question.

If you can’t be bothered to spend the time on constructing a sentence properly why should we spend time giving you the answer you require?

This text messaging speak on a BBS is lazy and makes you look a bit thick.

All IMHO of course.

Not really son. You missed a few words to make those sentences complete.

5/10 for effort though.

Also, Paperwork is one word, I've is how you write that and you end a question with a question mark? Not a !!!!

Therefore on reflection, 3/10 for effort.
