New UK STI to match Type C's Handling
#1
As the Type C seems to show Autocar that an EVO is not the be all and end all when it comes to handling, will the new UK STI get these improvements ?
There seems to be some rumours that the handling of the new Model year STI will be improved. Whilst is seems certain we wont get the new Engine, with 300bhp after a PPP it would still seem worthwhile - plus you keep the burble.
If this is true I wouldnt want to be picking up a new STI next week - not that I can afford to at the moment.

How much difference does this really make on the public roads with "normal" day-to-day driving though?
Is it a significant difference
edited to say "the handling, not the engine!"

The handling was improved on the MY03 models with some suspension changes.
However, you are comparing a JDM spec extreme version with what Subaru market over here as a family saloon with performance overtures. I can't see Subaru changing the STi to be more C like as the majoroity of customers won't want the compromises that everyday driving has. Yes the Evo is a fantastic car, but the majority of people who choose the Subaru would turn down the Evo on the fact that the Subaru is easier to live with day to day.
