Were there some difference between the 01/02 bugs ? as when I had ppp installed on my 02 I had it on well lanes rolling road and the bhp figure was 265 spot.

I'm considering buying a WRX wagon (I've just bought a dog and I need something to carry him about in!!) I test drove it and found the performance good for an estate but not great, what are the tuning options? I'd only be looking for around 250 bhp - Cheers

On a MY01, the PPP only gives 245bhp, but a lot of low down torque. If warrenty is not an issue, de-cat and ECUTEC it. This will give about 280bhp.

I think MY01/02 only got around 245BHP from the PPP but still made a lot of difference. I think the MY03 get closer to 265 from the PPP.

Go for an Ecutek remap and decat if warranty not an issue.

I've got the PPP and decat but bought the car with PPP and didn't think it was worth the hassle or expense in changing to Ecutek for only a little more power.

just rip the exhausts out, back box, mid and down pipe - thats good for 250/255 ish and a panel filter too(this is what Ive done) makes a massive difference and not silly money either

I've got the my01 bugeye wagon with ppp. very nice indeed - but be aware that you get a booming sound right by the drivers ears when the seats are down. I'm going to experiment with some sound proofing shortly.

feels an awful lot quicker than standard. Power is supposed to be around 240bhp, however, it is the increase in low down torque that makes it so much more driveable in normal situations. (don't know why people get so hooked up on bhp figures!?!)

I also put pagid n+ to improve the braking a bit although there are many options out there. the n+ definitely don't fade as much as the stadard disks and pads.
