Question

I have my 75,000 mile service next week, which is a quick service the basics, oil change and filter plus a few inspections and also change of the spark plugs. The plugs were changed last on the 60,000 service, but for me this was only 7,000 miles ago as 12 months have gone by.

What i am asking is do they really need changing as they are gonna add about £100 to the bill if i'm right (1 hrs labour plus supply of the plugs) as they are supposed to be good for 15,000 miles in between sarvices but, i have only done 7,000 miles with them.

Also are the garage gonna say if we don't change them it won't be a proper service.

Any help/advise appreciated.

Cheers James.

I thought the spark plug change was 2 years/30,000 mile intervals?

Hi Ian,

I had them replaced on the 60000 mile service, i am informed you then start the service schedule again, therefore it is now the 15000 mile service which includes spark plugs.

Cheers James.

p.s would this thread be better in General Technical.

They are due technically but i understand where you're coming from. I'd speak to your dealer about this and get their opinion.
