STI8 PPP VS TYPE R
#1
I currently drive a Type R with H&S dp and I'm considering buying a STI8 PPP.
Problem is, every review/test I read can't seem to get the car below 5sec on the 0-60 dash. It also gets beaten by EVO's and M3's every time.
Would a STI8 PPP be quicker than my Type R with dp? Or would I be taking a step backwards in performance?
Should I spend an extra 4-5K and get a Spec C?
Are the crazy people at Subaru planning any other 'specials' in the near future?
I would love another two door.

I ran a 22B and an MY03STIPPP together for 5 months. I've sold the STI8 now.
To be honest the MY03STI is probably quicker 'thru the bends' but it will not feel as fast...it's got alot more soundproofing and the gearing is longer.
I bought the STI8 hoping it would make the 22B feel obsolete..so I could finally get rid of it...but IMHO no-way Jose!
I can't recommend a really good test-drive heartily enough!
I've not driven a SpecC so can't comment...but the raw-er the better for me so SpecC stripped out could be great.

Just my opinion but the STI8 PPP is an awesome car.
It combines stunning performance with everyday comfort. I think that the excellent combination that this car offers is sometimes overlooked. Yes there are fast cars, better handling cars, more comfortable cars, but as one that does a bit of everything and has 4 doors and a boot its a bit special.
