Lamps and electrical fires!!
#1
Can anyone answer this quick question, I know its related to a previous thread but:Im about to have some Cibie Oscar SC driving lamps fitted they are supplied with brackets and wiring loom ,I have read that the wiring must be of a certain quality when using (might not be legal but everyone uses them) 130 watt bulbs, if the wiring is not up to it you get no light ,smoke or worst case FIRE!
Is there anything i can check on the wiring to make sure it can take that kind of charge before my STI goes up in flames??

If you have been provided with the heavy duty wiring and relays required to run the lamps you will have no problems with fires, I have had Scoobsport Cibies on 2 different cars, the same set of lamps, and had no problems whatsoever. I am not sure what wiring Scoobymania supply, but doubt they would supply wire that isnt heavy duty enough for the job.
The problem with the standard wiring on Imprezas is that they tend to melt wire or reflector if using higher wattage headlight bulbs.
Hope that sets your mind at rest.

Yes Mr Cook i think so. The SM stuff is supplied by MRT in OZ and they sent the 130w bulbs in the package, so shouldnt be a problem....fingers crossed. ...Ian
