OK im confused , dumbfounded and maybe a little scared. Why oh why do we do this to ourselves.
I have a MY03 WRX, 5 months old imported from Belgium.
It is too quiet sounds ok from outside the car but cant hear a thing inside. I want to hear that flat four bubble (a bit). I do not want a drooning or constant loud noise as my 9 month old baby likes sleeping in the car.
I will at some point get PPP (I will overcome the warranty issue with this being fitted in the UK).
But I want a temporary fix to the exhaust note problem. Problem Is can I get PPP without an exhaust if I allready have a suitable exhaust allready fitted and will I get any discount for not having the rear box that comes with the PPP.
SO my options are.
1. Do nothing. and wait for PPP (probably a year away as the wife wants a conservatory now
)
2. Find a standard STI exhaust from a 7 or 8 from someone who has replaced it. (any noise / performance gains) Im presuming this wouldnt be suitable for use with the rest of the PPP.
3. Get the WRSPORT exhaust (This isnt the same as the exhaust that comes with PPP i believe and would need replacing with PPP (cost £ 350).
4. Get a magnex (cat back system) with 6 x 4 from a rally prep friend for £220 Im presuming cat back means it replaces the centre section. (im a bit concerned this will completely toast my warranty I think I could get away with the back box.
5. I like the look of the Ninja from scoobyworld and is good value at £200. Will this be to loud ??.
any other recomendations ??

According to Prodrives website, you can't buy the PPP components individually. So if you buy a box now, you'll have to buy another one with the PPP kit whether you need it or not...

Go for the Ninja m8
I had one on my MY02. IMHO it was just right. Better, deeper grumble than the Scorpion (PPP b/box)and not as loud as stuff like the Firestorm. It is well made too.
Also, at the price you can't go wrong!

I am tempted by the Ninja, and if it comes to it i could always go the tek3 route as opposed to the PPP anyway, then I could do it in stages. Which is also what is putting me off the magnex system,
IMO is Magnex a bit to Max power scene to put on a scoob ??.

You will not be able to get PPP fitted in the UK without invalidating your warranty, the only way to get it done and leave your warranty intact would be take it back to Belgium and get it fitted there.

not this again, there are ways around this, your supplying dealer in the EU dependant on how hpeful they are can sort that out for you without having to go back to the supplying dealer.

Similiar problem myself, I want to fit a backbox to my wrx03,contacted Subaru uk in the midlands and their parts dept mentioned they do a performance back box abeit its mild steel for the my03,they are sending me details but apparently its a lot cheaper than the prodrive box @ £350. Also do Scorpion manufacture the backbox for Prodrive?

Scorpion do manufacture the PPP back box for prodrive but it is not the same as the one they sell themselves. They make it to prodrives spec and design.
I was not that impressed with the Wr sport one at £350, you would be better off going for a standard sti 7 /8 one that is removed after the PPP is fitted. (problem is getting one)

PPP exhaust is great, just had it fitted. If you want advice, call Ben at Cross Roads and say Jonathan suggested you call him. He's very helpful and if you need a particular exhaust they can use a specialist local rally firm (Prodrive?) to make bespoke and cost effective kit.
Also, mate who tunes skylines said the downpipe needs to be changed as it stangles power at low revs (the cat that is). That's next and I need to find a dealer who can do it for me whilst still being sympathetic to my warranty.
