Hi Guys,
Picked up my first ever scoob on Saturaday, MY03 WRX in Black, very pleased with it. The first 8 hours of ownership were a delight, sure the whole running in thing is a little frustrating but I'm determined to maintain right foot self control for the first 1k!
However, whilst enjoying a nice cuppa at my sisters house her neighbour knocks on the door and confesses to having reversed down his drive straight onto the rear of my brand new motor. I couldn't believe it, the bumper was pushed in and one of the rear light clusters was cracked.
Its all being sorted on the insurance (his hopefully!) but its still very disappointing.
Has anyone else had this kind of thing happen to them after picking up there new motor?

My dad's record was 4 hours, he had a new car sideswiped at a set of traffic lights by a 'yoof' in his parents car. My dad had to give chase, as the lad tried to make good his escape. Once trapped against the kerb and after the threat of mild violence, the 'yoof' saw reason and accepted responsibility.......

Yoof? Was he related to Janet Street-Por'ah?

I nearly totalled my brand-new Zetec-S less than 5mins after leaving the showroom. Was following my dad in the lefthand lane round an island when he decided it wasn't our exit. The only problem with this was there was a van that decided the righthand lane was for turning up said exit and came flying across the front of me within inches!!!!!!!

nearly twonked my 106 rallye on a roundabout within the hour of leaving the show room, thank god the others on the roundabout avoided me - worse of all was that just before I left my old man gave me the "your first fast car lecture" to which I poo pooed!

Not as quick as you lot to damage the car but did it in a bigger and better way. 3.5 days, 413 miles, wrote off a brand new 106 (and the bmw i hit), best of all the car came with free insurance!!

Dont run it in like a ***** - do a search on running in a car hard as it will sort the car out better than keeping it under 4,000 revs!!! There was a thread similar started by R6 CDW and theres a clicky link in that thread to a site that recommends running it in in an opposite way than the manufacturer states!

BORO : One of the biggest moments I have ever had was on my Scoob test drive, sh1te tyres and a very wet road and a high speed bend dont mix as I found out sideways twitch weren't the word
Worth it to see the salesman assume crash position

PS It done it once more after I owned it, then I bought new tyres

My dad reversed his brand new XJS V12 in to the driveway but not without taking the brick built gate post with him, Think he must have had it all of about 30 mins.

Surely he wins.....!!

Unhappy

I have seen a brand new jag shoved off the top deck of a transporter, whilst being delivered to the dealership.
Needless to say, it got written off.

No idea how long I had been driving, but my very first car a Silver Astra GTE MK1 A655 VMW why I remember that I don't know!

I got the car insured then drove from the brokers in Hinckley to show off my pride and joy to my mate in Earl Shilton (about 7 miles) and whack a littlewoods catalogue delivery van drove straight into the front drivers side wing

£1,500 and 2 weeks later all on the Barclaycard I got to drive it again took me 2 years to pay off the Barclaycard LOL!!!

No witnesses bla bla bla, 50/50 payout etc etc!

Oh god I'm gonna start crying again

Brand new Alfa Romeo 145 Cloverleaf. 10 miles on clock and went to start it up. Foreign object in the ignition barrel, key jammed, wouldn't turn or release. Transported back to dealer within 24 hours of picking it up ! And true to form, they never even said sorry ('tis true, Alfa dealers are the worst at customer service)
