Dave Pitchford was killed in a car crash on Sunday, 21st September, whilst on his way home from the Cilwendig Road Rally.
Dave was one of the stars of UK co-driving - he has won the Welsh Championship on several occassions and was one of the most famous and recognised faces on the scene - he was well known for doing as many events as possible - even finishing a night event at 6am and driving straight up to a stage event an hour or two later. Rallying was dave's life - he went to most WRC events from the last 4 or 5 years calendar, he called himself a "professional" spectator LOL
On a personal note I have Dave to thank for getting me started as a navigator - he helped and taught me, he even drove on local scatters and twelve cars just to give me a seat. He drove for me in my first ever stage event and was always on hand to give advice to all up and coming rally lads.
Some of you may remember dave from Rally Catalunya last year - he staggered out of Moby's with me to greet all of the scoobs coming into lloret - always a fan of all things rallying.
He read scoobynet but never posted - he never could quite understand running 250bhp through 4 wheels instead of just the rear wheels!
I have lost a very good friend and my rallying mentor - my thoughts go out to Jen, his wife and to little Sian his gorgeous little girl.
Bye my friend and thanks for everything - I'm missing you already
RIP Pitchy

I travelling to Donington on Sunday morning and I was turned around by Police because of an accident. Sadly to find out later that day somebody had died.
He was a local man and a friend of a work mate, he thought I would have must have known him.
Very sad news indeed

Owain - I think he was sitting by Gareth Jones in the Corolla as seeing as it was a Welsh Champ event
Tony - yes it happened just outside of Hereford.
At the moment the scetchy details are that he didnt make a 90 right at the end of a straight. No marks on the roads or attempts to brake. The Police think he may have fallen asleep

Hi there, if anyone has any pictures of David or no any links to YouTube of him rallying.
I know my girlfriend sian, (David's daughter)
Would appreciate it so much, as she would love to see him in action. After lying in bed last night, myself and sian searched for videos, new pictures etc but have had no luck as yet.
I know David meant to absolute world to sian, and still to this day she finds things hard.
So please if anyone can help us find a video of himself or pictures she doesn't already have. I know it can put that slight smile on her face.
Thankyou for taking time to read this comment. Ashley groves
