Barrier Deadlock / Transmission Lock
#1
Does anyone know how much these cost nowadays ?
Now that my 4-5yr old car is worth more to me than the insurance
value, I was thinking of getting it fitted.
How long would the average 'Angle Grinder Man' take to remove one ?

It would be quite difficult even for Angle Grinder Man to remove one.
We used to fit them but stopped as they are a pain in the @sre to get working correctly after a clutch or gearbox job. In theory, it should all go back in, in exactly the same place. In reality, the selector rods only need to have moved around 1mm and the thing either doesn't lock or jams locked.
I haven't seen the latest version and they may have overcome this problem now.

Thanks for the info Pete. I'll be seeing you in a month or
two as my car will need buying a X'Mas pressie
Does this mean that a clutch replacement job would be made
harder after fitting a barrier/dipol deadlock ?
