Also I have found out some more info on the Group N gearbox - I think its this that is giving you the idea that mine is a little quicker than yours....

'A five speed dog engagement is available on the Impreza Group N, which has been holologated with close ratio gears. The ratios optimise the engine's performance and provide faster gear changes'

Basically its a rally gearbox thats stronger and yet lighter than normal STi's gearbox - I also found this article about dog boxes and although it's not about the Prodrive version its still gives good background info.

I also think the later TypeRA's and TypeR's came with a Group N dogbox...


Anyway, I'm a bit fed up of just driving the motor in and around London - I want to stretch its legs a little - I don't fancy track days as these would seem to be a little boring - round and round - so I thought there must be somewhere that has a park or something ..

So I had a look and found these guys

What do you think? Anyone up for it?

Dog boxes are really noisy, did not think yours was that noisy.

That rally day sounds great, love to do it, would like to hire their car ou. I heard they do advanced driver/rally/handling courses at North Weald which is very near us.

I am sure more people would be interested in a rally day.

 

You car is a rally car dude - use it!!! (ok ok not quite a rally car but near enuff!)

Have you got a URL for the one near us?

 

I will dig it out, I am not taking on any forest stages with someone who can drive it to the limit at the wheel.
