cheers guys, the car isn't that fast 0-60, about the same as a type r, but when the turbo kicks in at higher revs, she flies, i was doing 90 mph at 3500 rpm, no lie, so do you think she is set up for top end, and also do you think if i turn the bleed up, she will be alot faster 0-60,

I would seriously suggest a trip over the Tamar Bridge, up the A38 / M5 to Powerstation in Cheltenham and get them to give it the once over. You could be sitting in a crudely restricted street racing monstor, or a timebomb waiting to explode. Unless you have thousands to waste, don't trust guesswork.

revs going up and down
I would certainly get the car checked out, and definately before giving it some whack!

cheers, guys, yes the up and down reving, only happens when the engine has stopped for a while, but it has got a apexi induction kit fitted, if this helps, im more concerned about the fuel pumps , i mean this thing is just pumping fuel through the car, is stinks of it, theres no leak anywhere, just must be the amount of fuel the car is putting through, must have uprated fuel pumps, im going to look at the injectors today, to see if they have been uprated, will keep you posted,

I would get it checked out and perhaps get it put on the rollers at someone like Powerstation, they have all the equipment and knowledge and labour rates are very good. I Would not **** around with it until you know whats been done to it.

Isn't Hayle down near penzance?
But yes I would agree, if you don't know a TD04L from a VF34 or 440s from 500s I would seriously suggest leaving well alone and going to Powerstation.

Going off at a tangent... Hayle is near Penxzance, but you would take the A30 up until you hit the M5, I am sure cossielewis knows this. The Plymouth way used to be the quickest until they built the Okehampton bypass, but that was years ago.

Listen to what Edcase has said above, it's the best advice you could get at the moment. Get it trailered up to Powerstation or similar and make absolutely certain it can run safely on our fuel. Continuing to use it with so many grey areas hanging over its fuelling and boost profiles is likely to be a recipe for an expensive disaster.

To be fair I've not lived in Plymouth now for 10 years

Yup, for my sins. Spent a few years in Brum, then the last 6 in East London near Canary Wharf, and now back in the SW in Brizzle.

Don't start, you'll have Mad Gypsy up in arms again!! ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Yes, there has been a lot of consolidation in my industry over the last decade, so had to move around. I got fed up with it recently so moved to Bristol and started my own thing

Well most of the work that I do has been moved to Bangalore
and no I am not in Telesales. I am hopefully safe (touch wood!) for a while, but I can see everything moving to areas where labour is cheap, highly educated and can speak and communicate in English within the next ten years, and there is not a lot we can do about it.

Exactly the same is happening in videogames. Increased outsourcing to the likes of India and Russia etc. ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Whoops, slightly off topic![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Yeah, get that car to Powerstation asap

m5, im 2 hours away from the m5, only kidding, i picked the car up at southampton, i was just told it was lightly modified, but that was a lie, the car car drove home alright from southampton, and did the trip on 1 tank of fuel, not bad as it's about 230 miles, did get stopped 2 by the police as it isn't registered yet, hence no number plates, but as you guys said it's going to a garage this week sometime to see whats been done to it, fingers crossed, it isn't about to go bang, but i will keep everyone posted,
cheers, lewis,
ps- can someone please tell the position of the injectors on the impreza engine ????

Dont want to sound like a broken record, but the only places I know in the SW that would be able to tell you accurately are Powerstation in Cheltenham and possibly that place in Plymouth out near the bowling place in Plympton. A 'normal' garage won't be able to tell you want turbo you are running, what size injectors, what ECU, fuel pump, cats, temp sensor locations etc.

The garage is a place called richard bros, in redruth , iv'e dealt with this garage for years, and trust me they no what they are talking about, they do alot of high performance cars, and also run there own rally car, so i will leave it, in there hands to fix it, as they are also rebuilding a subaru engine for me at the moment for my other impreza which pick up a bearing on the crankshaft,
will let you lot know, what spec it is,

hi, just picked up my nov 94, impreza wrx, wich i imported, didn't know nothing about the car until i saw it, it looks like a ex race car, all the stickers etc,but im more concerned about what has been done to the car itself,it's got a z4 ecu,the clutch has no bitting point, so it's on or off, nightmare when pulling away from 1st gear, it's got a bleed valve fitted but the at the moment is not that fast, about 280 hp, it also feels like the diffs are binding on at low speeds, for quick 0-60 like the type r, but it has no diff switch, also it's a full decat exhaust, which failed it's sva test, as emissions are through the roof, they said its due to the decat and that the ecu has been modified in a big way, all you here when you are giong along is fuel pumps, also at tickover it sounds like a rally car, revs going up and down, it's also flaming from the exhaust, so due you think i can turn the bleed valve up, for more power as i think it can cope with it,
so sorry for going on, but can some please give some light about whats been done to the car, and how to sort it out,
cheers, lewis
