STi 7 PPP Experience
#1
I recently had the pleasure of visiting a friend of mine who owns a UK STi7 PPP with a TSL firestorm rear box and the suspension has been tweaked by Prodrive. The last Impreza I drove properly was my old P1 which was probably about 2-3 years ago.
We jumped in the car (me driving) and my mate guided me towards a nice B raod on the Bedford/Cambridgeshire borders which in parts is quite twisty but does have some nice long sweeping bends with crests over hills it also has a nice double hump back bridge as well.
Our initial drive took us towards the double hump back brdige where once over the first hump you can see if the road ahead is clear, thankfully it was and we hit the second bridge at about 55-60 mph and saw a good 10-12 inches of daylight under all four wheels I must say I was quite impressed at how the suspension dealt with the landing, there were no bangs or crunches it just took it in it's stride. We then headed off towards the crest of a particular hill where if you are at a certain speed you can see daylight between the tyres and the road; again we were sucessful in getting dalyight between the tyres and the road albeit probably 3-4 inches but we were in the air for some 15-20 feet .
We then swapped driver and my friend showed me how the suspension has been altered and then demonstrated how the car behaves like a rear wheel drive car. The roundabouts still bear the traces of 4 wheel drifts and lift off oversteer antics.
All in all I was very impressed by the car and it almost tempted me towards getting another Impreza, but I may have to wait some time or until Type C's are a bit cheaper

Simon,
How you doing mate, the jaunt with Fergs was a separate occasion and was a bit milder than the one me & Arron had the other Sunday.
JZA,
The PPP with under car video is a special from Prodrive mate and is only available to certain people.
UKSTi,
These cars are made to fly so that's what we did
Arron,
The XR does pull mingers now that the restrictors are out of the air box and the exhaust, I'll bring it up or you come down once the Supermoto wheels are on.
Andy.
