SGT in Taplow.
They have a Mica Blue Import 02 plate for £12.995 at the moment. The going rate for a 52 Plate with less than 10K miles and fully serviced etc will be £16K - £17K - Black Scoobs seem to go for more money!

Hi Guys,
Playing with the idea of getting rid of the scoob since living with the paranoia is starting to annoy me. Spec:
Silver UK 52 WRX with with 4K on the clock:
Tek 3 and full de-cat, blitz back box
Samco turbo hose kit
Green air filter
Eibach springs, uprated anti roll bar drop links and geometry setup by TSL
Goodridge stainless brake lines
SECS monitor
Quickshift kit
Morettes
Mud flaps
Orciari high level (22b style) rear spoiler and corner vent extensions (go on front bumper corners around the vent holes)
Alpine CD player
Boston audio front component speakers
JL audio 10" sub in box and Rockford Fosgate amp running the sub and front components.
All in all a very nice setup and immaculately looked after. What do you think I'd get for it?

Very funny... By paranoia I simply mean the amount of breakins for the keys, muggings at traffic lights etc. I sleep with a hammer next to the bed these days and the slightest noise in the middle of the night has me wide awake. In addition I don't like the thought of leaving it in carparks for long times where it might get vandalised or stolen. Sad I know, but unfortunately it's the way things are going ending up in me driving my company car whenever it's going to get left for long periods. Price? I don't know what it's worth and that would be the deciding factor in whether I get rid of it or not. Any ideas on what it could fetch?

Mate you need to chill out. Its a hunk of metal, its means **** all to you if you really think about it!! If you really that worried you should get a camera on it and leave that to do all the watching?
What would you do if you saw people breaking into your car? Chase them with the hammer etc..this is only bad news. Best case scenario you smash someones head in and you get in serious trouble with the law or the kiddies mates and family etc, worse case scenario they kick the crap outta you....now remember these kids know where you live whilst you know nothing about them, big avantage to them!
If you look at things this way you realise the only thing you can do is nothing, enjoy your car and let things carry on.....sh*t happens as they say!
Hope you get it all sorted whatever you decide tho!

Given the drop in price of '52' plates prior to launch of the Blobeye, I'd of thought a '52' could be had for that price or less.
Agree with iDLe* on the other thing. Take all reasonable precautions ie cat 1, Blackjax, Diskloc, and leave the keys where they can find them. If it's the potential cost of dealing with vandalism etc then buy a cheaper scoob (loads about), enjoy it and bank the extra cash so you don't have to worry about fixing the occasional scratch/ding. Life's too short - enjoy it.

I just bought a 52 plate 5dr for 14k. 30k miles though :P
Actual physical attack IS rare, despite the media attention it gets. Garage & secure doors and windows will render the chance of that happening to almost nil.
Wilster.

Yeah Sticky that's right son.... The hammer is under the bed ready to be used as backup. Somehow I'd rather have something to defend myself and my fiance with as I'd assume most thiefs wouldn't break in with their bare hands??? Would you feel comfortable living with yourself knowing your partner got hurt because you couldn't at least try to fend off a scumbag with a crowbar because the only thing you had were your pyjamas. Personally I'd rather end up in trouble with the law for giving some rotten tea leaf a clobbering than remembering how my loved ones got hurt because I didn't try and stop them in their tracks. At the end of the day it's all worst case scenario but I know how it feels to wake up at 4 in the morning because somebodies trying to get in through the window.
