The only thing that bothers me about buying the WRX Turbo is the "transmission" controversy. If I do not modify nor race , will the tranny hold up?
I want to believe the problem trannys are from horsing the motor because Consumers Reports shows NO transmission problems.
Please post ------ if you drive in a normal manner with the 5 speed tranny ---- have you had issues with it?
Thanks
Bill

I drive in a slightly "abnormal" manner in that I've done a dozen+ trackdays, various shootouts & 1/4 mile sprints.
I've had PTMW! from new and have presently covered 76,000 miles on the OE clutch with no (to date) transmission/gearbox problems.
I believe that I treat the gearbox sympathetically (no slamming or jerky changes) and other than a slight notchiness between 2nd & 3rd that has been there since new, there is nothing other to report.
I also don't ***** around when not on trackdays or 1/4s![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
They are not weak - its down to how the indevidual drives...
