Just been watching 'Ameriacanshop' on Men and Motors this morning.
They were selling 'Cataclean'
£14.99 a bottle...and it reducts Co2 etc in your Cat... so it passes MOT?
anyone else heard of it.
they did the Tests with the cars on TV and it showed a BIG reduction in figures.
On New and Old cars.
Would this work on DeCat Scoobs as well?
its even been tested at an indepentent Lab in Sweden.. and the results were very good.. to the point they couldn't belive there was an additive on the market that could reduce Emisions!

Phil,
Mentions it (in passing) in an article in Jap Performance issue 30 in the MR2 article.
Excerpt is as follows....
Having carried out a couple of before-and-after tests, MRD has found the MR2's catalytic converter isn't the big strangulation problem that some other cats would seem to be. Doing a test on one car showed that keeping it in place made no difference to the ultimate power output, especially onct it had been cleaned out with Cataclean. No, don't laugh, MRD has actually used this petrol additive to lower emissions on cars that otherwise would have needed an expensive replacement catalytic converter to pass SVA testing.
I assume that the stuff cleans the cat and in doing so, makes it more efficient and like new again. MRD can be contacted here if you want to ask them some questions. If you do, post your questions and answers up here

Know the people who make this stuff, used it in my van (80,000 mile diesel) and there was a big improvement. The van was feeling a bit asthmatic beforehand though, I suppose there has to be a build up of sh**e before there is a benefit. As most of the people running scoobies seem to use Optimax which has cleaning additives anyway the benefits would probably be quite small. I don't think it can do any harm though and for the sake of 15 quid it's probably worth a try if your emissions are too high.
