Scooby has to go - where to next???....
#1
My Scooby has to go and I have £30k to 'play' with...
I want something that is....
1) Fun to drive
2) Comfortable for long motorway miles
3) Not a Merc / BMW
4) Quick (scooby quick if possible)
5) Reliable
6) Wont look out of place in the company car park (Usual mix of exec cruisers...)
Help!
Mak.

what about one of those reasonably quick Volvo's - S60R is it, I think there's an AWD version as well.
I drove a simlar model a while back and it was superb, eats motorways, great cabin and what a sound system!

I would back the vote for the Volvo S60
I had one for 18 months and did 65,000 happy miles in it.
I had the 2.4T SE but my mate now has the type R... Lovely motor
So comfy it's scary eats the motorway, looks the nuts IMHO.... and as mentioned unbelievable 12 speaker Bose stereo..
If I was company car-ing again I would walk straight past Merc BM Audi (Of which I have had 3 and loved) and straight into a Volvo garage....

Lexus IS300 - you'll have to get rid of the rear lenses though, I mean they're awful aren't they?

I would go for the Pork as well....oh, I did!
Surprisingly smooth and quiet on the motorway - in 6th gear (make sure you get a manual) it will cruise at 70mph at around 2,400rpm. And will scuttle off when you boot it - no turbo lag.
You will not get better depreciation on a 30k car - have it for a couple of years - even do 20k miles and you will only lose 3-5k.
Great to drive, especially the 993, and quick even the lowly Carrera 2 - mine does a faster quarter than my standard Sti V ever did!!!!

Volvo C70 GT? very good looking car imo.
Jag S type R. Not my thing, but supposed to be good.
Overfinch tweaked range rover - http://www.overfinch.com/index2.htm 400bhp as well.
I'm sure vauxhaul (sp) dealers would service a Holden (although don't take my word for it). They're sold by the same company in Oz anyway. There's even an estate & a 4x4 coupe...
