03 UK STI - until this evening the key would unlock the doors by pushing the button once and would also lock the doors by pushing the button once.
Tonight came out to car and pushed button, alarm deactivated, but doors stayed locked. Had to unlock them with the key.
Now the button will only lock the doors, but not unlock them.
I consulted the owner's handbook to find pictures of a key with two buttons (one for lock/one for unlock) whewreas my key has only one button. Book was of no real help anyway.
Anyone out there any idea as to whether this is some sort of setting or is my key faulty?
Thanks in advance.
tiggers.
P.S. Did try the search, but it's functionality kind of sucks in that it won't seem to do AND between different words.

hi tiggers,
Mine is a EU car so it may be different.... It came with a cobra alarm (smooth black fob with one grey button), but it also has the lock/unlock buttons on the actual key. These will activate the central locking without the alarm.
If it is the cobra one you have I would suggest getting the dealer to look at it, as it should lock/unlock as well as activate/de-activate the alarm and you should have had a seperate book for this alarm in your paperwork.

Thanks for the replies guys.
It's in the dealer next week anyway for the 1000 mile service so I'll get them to have a look at then. Just hope it doesn't lock me out completely before then.
Regards,
tiggers.

Imports / bugeye’s had two buttons, MY03 UK cars have just one - than handbook as generic on this section.
My previous car (Corrado) had problems with its central locking as the pipes had were fowled in the door (it worked on compressed air) - quick door rebuild solved it. Yours is likely to b similar; probably damp circuit.
