Faults to date: blown fuse on the indicator.
Other than reporting one of the reversing lights was not working
Bet you all now the answer to that one. LOL
Has anybody found any faults or made warrantee claims.
Just thought to ask if there are any fault trends evolving, regarding the model.

KentScooby,
Fair point, but I can answer as follows:
1. When done in bits - the girlfriend doesn't notice!
2. All Hi-Fi except sub sat in Cupboard.
3. Did a deal with dealer on Strutbrace.
4. BackBox sourced from Scoobynet (brand new and unused).
5. I sit in a lot of traffic - so sounds keep me from getting bored.
6. I didn't realise how good the PPP was!
I really want the PPP - but getting married in June so not allowed!
Oh yeah and the Classic Scoobs have much better positioned rear speakers (for bass and sound) and headunits - not those cheap 'n nasty standard head units the 03's have .......

Another thumbs up here as well done 3500 miles so far.
Much better build quality over my MY99 and the ride although a bit of a compromise makes the wife alot happier.
My only major gripe is the lack of support from the seats it makes me less keen to throw it into the bends like my old 99MY.
how did you manage that everyone comments on the exhaust on mine, they can either hear me coming for miles away or they see the exhaust and comment straightaway.

I've had my 03WRX since August, the only problem I have is that the 03 'bucket' seats aren't as grippy as my 01WRX, but they're certainly more comfortable over long journeys. A few more big meals though and I'll have modified my bum to fit
As regards faults, not a one on my Scoob, but my mates £40 grand '53 plate Merc does have a headlight out
One of the best things coming from the 01 was noticing all the new little touches - seatbelt warning beeper, illumintated ignition, bigger washer bottle.... there's more too I think. All small stuff I know, but shows some thought went into it.
The other thing is..... my 03 was sooooo much more responsive out of the box than my 01 - so much so that I'm convinced my old car must have been faulty
Big thumbs up/big grins from me then too
Deano
*edit* while I'm on - does anyones MY03 have a steering lock? Mine doesn't, or it's faulty, and I can't find any mention of it in the manual. I can't remember if my MY01 had one either to be honest

Beemer_Deano - the wheel should lock on your WRX - mine locks like most cars when you have the wheels forward and the steering wheel centred.
Seats - I notice a numb spot in my lower back after being in the car for a while.
The stereo stinks - the dealer said so himself )also the exhaust sound). Stereo high on the list - was it easy to get a blanking plate to fill the space of the original 2 DIN system anyone? Also, anyone know what make the speakers are in the WRX - Clarion is the headubit I believe. Some folk seem to be pleased after they change the head unit only.
The interior is much more modern than before - nice to notice touches like dimming interior light, key light, cup/can holders, etc.
Everything else is great. Glad to hear others are pleased too.
Is PPP really that good?

New turbo at 1500 miles (faulty unit apparently!), Oil consumption seems high (2 litres in 7000 miles) and some days seems a lot quicker than others. Pro's still far outweigh the cons though, had it six months and still make excuses to go to Asda for a loaf of bread about 60 miles away!!!
PPP due in new year, just want to make sure oil consumption is the norm before shelling out £1600.

I'm still delighted with my 02 WRX PPP, and so's my Wife with her 03 GX Sportswagon. She's had no probs in 5 months and 8.5K miles, and I've only needed the driver's seat tightening in 13 months and 20K miles. Basically, they're continuing where the other 3 Impreza Turbos left off - hassle free, reliable motoring.
Cheers

A thread on Scoobynet that is not full of doom, gloom, costly repairs or warnings of impending catastrophic failure..... ???
Surely not !!!!!!
Done 6500 miles in my 03 WRX and still got BIG beaming smile evey time I take it out of the drive !!!!
The wife likes driving it as well (although she can't understand all the flashing and waving that goes on ) - Still you can't have everything !!!

Had mine a month, 1500 miles and all I want to do is drive it - have to resist though.
Grin factor still very high, especially after new back box and K&N Panel Filter.
No probs (except rattling drivers door) to speak of.

full of doom, gloom
I'm sick to death of the knockers in here. I've had nothing but fun and reliability from my Scoobs. All the owners I've met, have had similar experiences.
My first Impreza Turbo (April '94), has now done over 125,000 miles, is still on the first clutch, engine, etc. It's rust free and still pulls like a train, as I found out when I came across it on the road recently.
The only negative Subaru vibes I come across, are actually in Scoobynet.
Cheers

Phew - a positive post on a monday morning!
Had WRX03 PPP since July - still love it
Suffering intermittent Engine Warning Light/ cut-out. Re-sets after couple re-starts. Suspect overboost with damp, low temps at moment.
and wipers still rubbish
But all in all - it's an awesome car and I use any excuse to go for a blast!!

had my my03 wrx for 4 days now excellent car, every time im out i just want to floor it, although i have to resist as im still running in at under 4000 rpm. got the 1000 mile service next week and having a road angel fitted for peace of mind. its so easy to get carried away it doesnt feel like your going quick untill you look down at the speedo. it looks the nuts too, graphite black mica just applied supaguard and meguiars wax this weekend gleeming car and all ive done so far is driven it when its rainning. i,m already looking forward to the next 40k.
