It could simply be that yours was built on a day when they didn't have the standard rooflinings in stock, so they fitted the better one.

Mind you, are you sure you haven't got an MY00 car? Don't forget that the MY00 production run began in September '99, so it could be that you got an early one. Does your car also have body colour mirrors and doorhandles?

no coded skirts or mirrors. understand that the 00 model also had intermittent wiper speed control and glove compartment light (which mine doesnt) so sure its a my99, just never seen the map lights set in the roof on another my99 and slightly puzzled by it.

when i called my dealer after they went stopped working and i was trying to identify which fuse it was, they said they'd never seen any on a my99 before (turned out to be a bad connection on both bulbs).

hmmm, curious...

My MY99 (July) has them also , but I'm the second owner so I don't know if they came as an extra though .

Thumbs down

My old MY95 had them but current MY99 does not. To be honest, seats aside, the MY95 interior esp switches was much better in both design, materials and function.

Riftzone, does it have an electric sunroof ? because mine has them but they are built in to the panel with the sunroof switch in the roof.

These came if you had the sunroof option. I think IM ordered a load of cars with roofs back then. Customers did not order them but were told at collection time you either cough up an extra 800 quid or the car went to some one else in the queue.

Wink

I think the map reading lights became standard on the MY 99 (including the RB5) and MY 00. Have seen a imported WRX (97) with them fitted. Sure the STi have them earlier than MY 99.

The intermittant wiper was standard on the MY 00.
