When blue-scoop went to PE, they change his ITG air filter for a big K&N cone filter...
I thought stock air box was OK till 350 bhp ?
So is it better to go to PE with something à la APS "Cool Air Intake" ?
Huge Xmas list this year ;-)

I use a K&N induction kit in the engine bay on my MY98.
I have fabricated a heat shield from ally to reduce heat entering the air flow,
in addition I have cut open the front end of the resonator air box in the wing to allow air flow from the front of the car straight into the path of the induction kit.
Also on the front edge of the bonnet you have a rubber strip which can be taken off and tucked into one of the holes in the bonnet support, just helps a little extra air flow under the bonnet.
To top it off I have just added a mini bonnet scoop though the under tray is still fitted during wet days but removed when its dry. Note meshed grill, MRO splitter, MY01 wheels and brakes
The resonator air box chop noticebly increased mid range a touch and cooled the filter down, though near the neck of the filter, closest to the engine was still warm even with the shield. The scoop (when under tray removed) has really cooled the cone filter down and where the filter was once warm is now nice and chilled.
And a few other pics
VF24 Turbo and modified HKS downpipe now twin dump. Heat shield to be added.
Tilted intercooler with Samco hoses to increase flow and reduce negative boost, Wire in intercooler measuring core temp for auto water cooler spray.
Intercooler water spray and air splitter
Halo lights at night . looking to move the indicators into the side lights and therefore remove the old indicators.
My daughter who keeps me inside the speed limit
Cheers
Neal

Hi All
Continuing from Power Engineering UK MY97-00 Phase 2 ECU Upgrade group buy
Click below link to read up on the Product. Located half way down the page under the heading
ENGINE MANAGEMENT UPGRADE
Sorry Power Engineering state that this is for UK cars only and I am afraid this does not include the P1.
After a lot of interest from you guys with a MY01-03 Impreza I have managed to persuade Power Engineering to include them in the group buy.
Prices MY97-00
The usual price for the remap is £625.00 plus vat (£734.38) fitted and set up.
5-10 cars £575.00 plus vat. £675.63
10-15 cars £525.00 plus vat. £616.88
15+ cars £500.00 plus vat. £587.50
Prices MY01-03
The usual price for the remap is £650.00 (£763.75 inc.VAT) fitted and set up.
5-10 cars £600.00 plus vat. £705.00
10-15 cars £550.00 plus vat. £646.25
15+ cars £525.00 plus vat. £616.88
All cars are under the same group buy so all we need to get is a total number of 16 Impreza over the MY97 to qualify for the lowest group buy price.
Due to Xmas approaching and funds tend to be tight the Close date for applications to this group buy is Jan 31st 2004 and all work must be completed by end of March.
All will be required is a Deposit of £60 to secure a position in the group buy. Once 16 deposits are received and confirmed it is up to you to organise a date and time for fitting
Please post and email me to confirm your interest.
Please dont hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

As far as i know the chip is mapped for your specific car...
ie
it is put on a rolling road and checked beforhand.
Then it is mapped to get the best from the modifications that you have using the rolling road.
I do not think it is a set formula for any set of modifications.
It is all down to your particular car.
But i could be wrong.

A friend has just had his scoob done at these guys. they put in on the rolling road pre remap and you get your figures. then they remap and test again so you get your new figures. To activate the new map he turns ignition on presses rear heater and depresses throttle to full. This type of mapping can be activated and deactivated. Apparently when you have the car serviced the dealer will not know any work has been carried out as there is no trace, asuming you put it back to standard map settings

Hi Guys
Power Engineering have asked if I can handle the deposits to ensure the final Goup Buy price. Once I have received the min of 16 deposits I will send your details and deposit to PE. Once this happens and PE confirms the price I will contact you all so you can book a time with them.
First I will mail all those who are interested and on the list with my details to send your deposits. As I am unable to handle debit and Credit cards the deposit will have to be paid by cheques. For those outside the UK I will see if PE will handle them so you can use a credit cards.
Martin, Greg is correct as the ECU is programmed to yourcarand its mods on the rollers.

I've been wanting to get a P.E. equal length manifold for ages,
but have already got an Ecutek remap from Pete @ Scoobysport.
Do you think P.E. would consider giving me a price inbetween the one to remap their own work, and the price offered in the group buy if I bought a header and got it fitted and mapped at the same time ?
I was wondering if there was some initial license cost that might not apply in my case...
