Plods in unmarked scoobs (BBC1)
#2
Unfortunately we are easy targets in a car, beats catching the real criminals though(soft B@stards). Does any part time lawyer know any rule on entrapment cos a mate of mine told me a story of plod pulling along side a car from the dark side in an unmarked scoob at lights (men in the scoob were in civies by the way and had the obligatory baseball caps on). Lights change, tyres light up etc, further down the road blue lights on and followed by a short break from driving for the poor Bugger who did just what I would have done. I say again...B&stards!!!

No missed it but i know that they have at least 1 Scooby in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Police.
Dont worry if you drive anywhere around Matlock in Derbyshire you will see signposts showing you helicopters cause they use the Police helicopter to catch us round there.

The DBM & Silver classics are famous in N.Yorks (I think they have a green one too). I'm surprised they catch anyone. They must be due some new metal soon.

The blue scooby is from my home town - see it around all the time, I always get the road they followed the bikes on doing 95 is a great stretch for a blast but they regularly stake this stretch out.
The moral of the story is don't rise to the bait if you see a fast car in your rear view!
Must admit the program made me feel like selling the scoob and getting a diesel.
Shame because I bet most of the accidents in cars are not performance cars driven by responsible adults but young dick heads in old sierra's.
I think we would be guilty until proven inocent if we did have a crunch with another motorist given that we drive "fast" cars!
Wasn't that biker who tried to get away a complete dick.

Fair enough catching real speeders in residential built up areas (the ones doing 50-60 in a 30 limit) but this sort of behaviour from plod gets under your skin!! Big deal if someone is in a performance car doing 70 on a country road or 80-100 odd on a motorway. Is that really dangerous/criminal when you think about the **** in the tractor or slow moving vehicle doing 20 mph on fast roads at rush hours with massive tailbacks forcing drivers to make dangerous overtaking manouevres just to get past? Where are the plod then?
This behaviour of enticing drivers to go faster to catch them speeding is bang out of order! Wish they would concentrate their efforts on vehicle crime, road tax dodgers, mot failures on the roads and insurance dodgers! What's more dangerous, the car pulling away from the lights quite quickly or the drunk driver with no insurance? I know which one I frown upon!
ps. just thought, what am I waffling about?? Think I've just kept on topic and no more

There are also two scoobys unmarked as part of Cheshire motorway Police car fleet. Not sure what colour but a traffic officer was telling me they have two and use them on the M6 Knutsford area.
Ow and they wear black fleeces so you cant see the white shirts.
Beware.....

at least they must really rate scoobs as the car to **** on the joy riding scum bags in whatever they may have nicked - like the T5's back in the mid nineties - jesus haven't cars come on!

Was out and about on the M6 today at about 3.00pm, just north of the M55 junction, weather was awful and numerous marked police cars passed me whilst sitting on the hard shoulder (I was working, not broken down). I saw about 4 marked Legacy Wagons come past in about 2 minutes heading north, anyone know anything about this phenomenon.

What's wrong with entrapment?
It's great for winning over hearts and minds, some tw*t gets to feel good on his power trip, and whilst you're filling in the paperwork some other tw*t gets to break into your house unhindered.
And lets face it - what else are they gonna spend all your taxes on??
Top stuff - NOT !!

Notts have 1 marked and 1 unmarked. North Yorks have total of 8, not sure about South Yorks.

One unmarked car I never thought about looking out for was a PPP scoob. Will have to be more careful in future I guess.
Wheres the law stand with unmarked police cars anyway? How does one know a 'real' police car as opposed to a 'fake'.?. I have seen a fair few cars with flashing blue lights/strobes fitted in headlights...
...how do we know we are really being pulled by plods?....Escpecially if they are covering up their uniforms with civilian clothes!
...before I saw this article on the telly I doubt I would have stopped if a scooby flaged me with blues from behind...maybe if they pulled alongside with their uniform and warrant card I would.
Not unheard of car-criminals posing as unmarked plods, to take your hard earned.

Surrey Police have at the last count:
5 or 6 classic shape scoobs, various colours & apparently all Prodrive modified
2 Silver Evo 7's (FQ models)
1 current shape 911 turbo (black)
All can be seen regulary on the A3
I have seen personally 3 or 4 of the scoobs - both the Evo's parked up next to each other & the 911 'shifting' on the A3..
Harsh!
