Get the WRX PPP'd for £1600 and keep the WRX. Its a cheaper way to similar power as the standard STI. If your car has already been PPP'd then I guess a PPP STI is on the cards which is going to cost you an additional £2000 on top of the cost of the basic car.

Why not PPP your WRX for £1600 and your into STI territory, if not better! (Performance wise)

However, if its an STI PPP you fancy, its completely different and worth the extra IMHO.

No, you probably cannot - but that does not stop you from getting one now does it???

I plan to do the same when funds allow!

Im not looking for 0-60 times ,but better in gear performance, I have found that I am driving the wrx flat out 95% of the time, its now time for another challenge, will the ppp on the wrx give me this oh and what sort of torque figure am i likely to expect on a ppp'd wrx

From Prodrive's website, the PPP on a MY03 WRX increses the following....

Peak power is now 265PS at 6,000 rpm as opposed to 225 PS at 5,600 rpm

Torque is up to 348 Nm from 295 Nm between 2750 rpm and 6250 rpm.

0 - 60 mph improves from 5.5 secs to 4.8 secs (allegedly)

Standing Qtr - 13.7 secs from 14.3 secs (standard)

Question

how does the UK MY03 WRX and UK MY03 WRX with PPP compare to a MY03 JDM WRX?

lol talizman - I thought I had double posted!

The PPP on the WRX makes a huge difference to the performance in gear, if you find yourself driving it flat out all the time then you wont have your license after christmas! (Im assuming its an MY03 PPP?)

Thanks for the figures, how about the handling department, has the sti any improvments on the wrx apart from the obvious brakes.

IIRC, JDM WRX's are circa 250 bhp?

In that case the UK WRX PPP will be a better all rounder with more power and better torque.

I'd probably chose the WRX PPP over bothe the JDM WRX and the UK STI.

Thumbs up

Beefy's/Talizman's first posts sums it up perfectly-WRX/PPP more desirable than unmodded STi, but STi/PPP tops the lot. Superior handling with the Suretracs IMHO.

Beefy, I didn't say that I was flat out on the queens highway, I always abide by the relevant speed limits as do all impreza owners ( don't they?)
