Do you let your mates drive your scoob?

Similar to another thread about letting your missus drive your car, but my problem is everybody I know wants a spin and when they do they all want to put their foot down - third party insurance, little experience of a car as fast as a PPP'd scooby - bit of a dilema - what would you do?

I let mine have a blast shortly after I got mine, just coz I wanted them to smile as much as I was. It was done on a strict, "you tw*t it you pay everything". seemed to modify their driving a little but I must have converted a good 3-4 to the ways of the Scoob!!!

Let one of my mates drive it a few times, I trust him, ,hes had an impreza, a boxster, and S2000 and races a Caterham all over the country, oh hes also a tyre test engineer..........so I have no fear. I let another mate, with much much less experience drive it, only for a short blip, but he was very sensible in it and had been grumbling that no one would let him drive their nice cars, so I figured mine would be a notch on his bed post so to speak, it was also very sunny and dry.

Let one of my mates drive my old Scoob when the fastest thing he had ever driven was a Clio - it was a bit of a shock to him Mind you it was on a bit of private road though with no other cars around!

I do... I let my mate drive it if he wants to..
Worst feeling I ever had was when I let this 19 year old lass out in it on her own... Yes call me stupid I know I have never been as nervous in my life, not even when I had my first erection !!

I have let my mates & GF & Family drive around Donington, Bedford and the Nurburgring.
Its a question of trust.
If they drive like a complete ****, they will never get behind the wheels of one of my cars again. If they respect it, listen to me, and drive sensibly (they can still drive as fast as they like as long as I feel they are in control)then they can have another go.
On the whole they have been very good.
I always stress to them that - "if you bin it, you buy it!"

I let one of my "trusted" mates, who is actually a very safe driver, have a shot of my STI 8 PPP when I got it.
We were on dual carriageway going onto a roundabaout and I told him to gun it coming off the r/about, watching for the shift light.
I wanted him to feel how rapid the car gathered speed.
He obviously had no concept of how quick the car was, cos he got on the gas as were about 3/4 round the roundabout, expecting it to pull smoothly, but of course the wheels spun and the rear stepped out sliding to the nearside lane.
He caught it just in time! B-stard!
Made me realise that even those I "trust" can come a cropper in the Scoob!

Only one of my mates has hinted at it, so I let him have a go - and it was ok, but my clutch was slipping at the time hehehe. The missus likes to have a go in it now and then tho, she's a speed demon
I'd like my best mate to have a go but not sure if i could trust him fully not to go mad, cos he's too much like me hahaha.

I let my mate drive my car the day I got married, he drove me to the church and then drive the car to the hotel. There's a classic bit on our video where the 2 beautiful, gleaming wedding cars, a 1936 Rolls-Royce and a 1937 Bentley cruis majestically out of the church grounds, followed very closely by my unwashed and quite loud Scooby. Best bit of the video as far as I'm concerned
Normally it depends on the mate. Close mate's with fast car/bike experience? No problem. My mate Podge? No chance.

I've only let a couple of friends drive it, and only as a one off. I didn't mind that they opened it up but they always seem to want to go into bends and islands too fast to see "how well it handles". I soon put a stop to that **** with a few persuading words. I don't mind if they've got experience in similar powered cars, but when they get out of a 90bhp car into a 300bhp scoob it's not funny.
The missus drives it daily and I am more than happy to let her drive as she likes. She is a good driver and can handle the power, without getting to the limit on the bends.

I trust a mate of mine enough to drive the car, but just haven't had the time to sort out a blast, he drives a Volvo T5 saloon (without the flashy accessories ) so does anyone know a nice 4 mile straight stretch he could use
