I'm interested in info about the Newbury area. I'm visiting on Tuesday and would like to know the road that are fun to drive and also the ones to avoid, speed cameras etc ...

Thanks,
Nigel

Nigel,

Do you have to visit Newbury?

Every time I've gone near the place, I seem to get stuck in the mother of all traffic jams.

Have they re-opened the A34 by-pass yet? I haven't been through when this has been open, so it might not to bad if they have finished rebuilding it.

Chris.

Cool

Be careful, there are quite a few cameras in the Newbury area. If you want a good drive (and can afford the petrol / time), follow the A4 from Newbury to Hungerford, then take the B4000 all the way to Swindon. It takes about half to three quaters of a hour (depending on traffic, quality of tyres etc ), but offers some excellent driving, (I know cause that's the way I go to/from work every day ).

Cheers,
Iain

Wink

There are lots of good back roads round here
where i often take our scooby for a good thrashing to blow the cobwebs out !

The by-pass has been open for months now!

Lots of cameras and laser traps watch out
!
