Front ones, P1 style (will fit bugeye with the creation of an extra hole) are only £8.50 each + the dreaded VAT (SACC2145)
These are like the ones you mention but cheaper, and smaller - a bit more discrete, and only available in black.

It's all about the workmanship and quality of materials. I had them on my Impreza and was able to sell them on when I chopped in the car, so in reality they only cost me £70.
Think about how much we all pay for an exhaust! I can buy a length of 3" bore x 6m long 316L stainless pipe for about £30 but the cost is in the welding and forming of it into something usefull.

Always wondered why folk are so keen to put forest rallycar mudflaps on when they never drive their cars through forests. Smaller ones are more than enough to protect a roadcar.
Works cars seem to run without them a lot of the time nowadays!

u need the flaps as big as possible so u dont get stonechips as the paint is so thin!!!
i have to admit, £150 is a LOT for some but when u think that STI/Subaru charge £350/£400 for a set, i mean come on thats just robbery

somewhere I remember seeing a thread which pointed to a DIY mudflap guide....
if anyone knows where it is, I would like to read it - I too am after mudflaps - as during winter in particular, our roads are covered in tiny stones....
Either that, or if I can get a set ready and made for around 30 pound, then I may be interested....
