Who to repair me scoob
#1
Have just had some bar steward driving a bus mash the front of me scoob.
Can anyone make some recomendations as to where I should get it done? I was looking to a subaru main dealer to keep my warranty ect.
Totally gutted I only picked it up on Monday

Indeed they do but I was hoping to get subaru to do the repair purely due to the bodywork warranty and the fact it is so new. Have had my insurance companies approved repair centre phone me but it is only one of my local bodyshops. Luckily my insurance company totally agreed with my point of view and said to go to the main dealers and get the usual estimates.

Yeh - steer clear of the 'approved' repairers if you can and get it to a Scooby specialist. 'Approved' and 'carefully selected' are defined by the insurer's criteria (i.e. lowest possible cost) not your criteria (i.e. the quality of the work and speed of repair).
You'll probably find you only get a courtesy car in your policy if you use the approved repairer (and when a tw@t in a Range Rover ran a red and took a corner off my last car - a 328i - I was offered a Ford Ka). I rang my local BMW garage and they said they provided a courtesy car too - and gave me a rather-unexpectedly fun 320d for free.
Same again when I grenaded a monkjack deer in my STi8. The same 'approved repairer' was offered to me, and the local Subaru garage got the job and provided a cheap Justy for a couple of days - and they did a good job. (I wish my colleagues wouldn't call me Bambi Killer, though :-( ).
You'll find almost all good repairers do free or very cheap (fiver a day or so) courtesy cars - making them a far better bet for getting your car fixed than the local cheap panel bashers trying to keep costs down to the level the insurers will pay.
