Is it on the front of the mag, or do you have to buy it?

Steady on Fuzz.

Red face

I dont do excuses, i do facts.

Once i got the settings right i set the 3rd fastest time of the day and was fastest Subaru, not bad for a standard engine/suspension car against all those monsters.

That reminds me of a trip to the Nurburgring in June 2001 http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/trip_r...ng_trip12.html. All the scoobs were safely tucked up in the car park (so was everything else with a roof) whilst I was blasting around in the pouring rain driving my Westfield or Jon's Atom. I was a bit on the soggy side but having more fun than the muppets hiding in the cafe. Bunch of wimps.

If you get the chance, find somewhere away from the public when it rains, go play and learn how to drive in the rain, it's such a great laugh and what you learn could save your skin one day.

Never a truer word spoken John. I was hit by a presumably drunk (by the way he was driving) driver whilst in my Elise roughly this time last year. It was raining heavily and the temperature was very near freezing i.e. it was slippy. Despite only being dealt a glancing blow I started to spin and failed to catch it eventually ending up doing 3 full 360's along a stone wall. I walked away unscathed, but the Elise was totalled.

To this day I feel that if I knew better how to cope in the wet with the RWD Elise that I could have recovered the spin before it got out of hand. Since then I have been practicing gently in the wet when the opportunity arises (i.e. away from other road users), but I think I really need to find a course that specialises on handling cars on slippery surfaces.

Any ideas?

tiggers.

Exclamation

Don Palmer used to do a course called "the wetter the better" at MIRA on the wet handling course there. I attended that a few years ago and learned a great deal. Unfortunately Don doesnt do that course anymore as MIRA cut back its public access to the facility.

Maybe Don could taylor a course for you, he does a lot at Bruntingthorpe under his creative car control banner. He is a great driving coach who understands how to find where your weaknesses are and helps you to develop your skills.

Dons website is http://www.drivingdevelopment.co.uk/

John,

Thanks for that - I shall get in touch with him. I don't reckon it would take him too long to find my weaknesses - they're pretty easy to spot

Regards,

tiggers.

You can drink beer anytime Richard, you only get a few oportunities to play in the wet at the Nurburgring in a daft powered Westie.

Glad to have helped tiggers.

Jonny not me, I was out playing in the rain, as usual.
