standard fit alarm: worth keeping?

I was actually reccomended the Sigma fitted to the Scoob B4 I knew it was standard fit, its worked for me, only once has it gone off, and i still have the car.
p.s. car had no alarm as it us a jap import

Just wondering if anyone has any comments (nothing too specific, please) on the alarm/immobiliser that comes as standard (the manual i got with the rb5 indicates its a sigma).

As a rule I must admit a certain amount of contempt for any factory fit as they're all fitted the same way so once the scumbags figure one out ......

I've been looking at fitting something else but just wondered how many people have had their car nicked (ie actually removed, not just broken in to):
a) with the standard fit
b) with something else fitted

Just thought I'd check before blowing a stack of cash on a replacement ....
