I am deadly serious!

Note to self, don't let Pavlo drive my car

T-uk scares me $h**less these days when he drives it.

There is quite a difference in the manners of the car with just 10 or 20% extra torque IMHO.

The extra torque is far more fun than extra power.

So there are quite a lot of you chaps spending your hard earned cash, and many hours of yoru time devoted to increasing your scoobs' performance.

But what are the figures bhp/torque?

What is everyones modded cars running at, and how is the reliablity vs performance working out?

Sure is, is it realiable? Or does it need constant TLC?

I guy my dad works with, his dad works for a firm that rally prepares scoobs, have to find out who they are, he might even be a reg in here. But think they get theirs over 600, but they need to be rebuilt everyother time they're used!

Harvey has done 585bhp with 450lbs of torque (i think, cant remember exact figure).

There are some other guys floating about with top figures in the UK.

Trout has done around 550bhp i think and 500lbs of torque (may even be more than that, i cant remember the figures).

Alot of money is spent into getting this monsterous scoobs up. Some people its their every day car and some its their weekend toy.

I think Andy F has the greatest car at 440bhp on a 2.0 and every day driver.

David just needs to put some miles on it now to see if it's reliable. I hope so, but for now i wouldnt say its a proven level of performance.

But if you read his post in the wanted section about a new ecu for his other wagon, it shows he has had a few engine builds and also the car was off the road for months at a time. Therefore not really a daily driver.

Andy F - how long was his scoob off the road?

Mine was off for a week and i have no second car and hated it! Harvey with his results may use it as a near every driver now but while it was being built - it wasnt.

Before this turns into an argument - i have only read this information off the wanted section on scoobynet posted by Harvey himself.

Andy's scooby spends a lot of its life in a garage locked up nice and safe (I'll sell you the address for a grand ). Last time I talked to him he went to and from work in a runaround so his car isn't really a daily driver.

frank, I wasn't having a go, I was just being my usual pedant self.

Don't worry, there is no way this will turn into an argument as it isn't something I am passionate about.

I honestly don't think there is much point in going over 350-400 lbft for general road use. It is already borderline controllable on a wet road at that level even in 3rd gear.

No worries Adam

When i first read that John, i thought you said there is no point going over 350-400bhp but then realised the torque

If i get up toaround that figure, i dont think i will go for more as i will be well chuffed with that.

You dont want to much power (well you do but its to costly both in time and money). lol

You are joking?

You mean you don't want to do 120mph powerslides?

Sheesh, what a panzy.

I have yet to go in a car and think it's too fast or too hard to control. Admittedly I haven't driven something with over 400hp as yet. God help us all when I do.

Darren,

I know... With that much car audio then it is.. (similar amount to mine, mine is more SQ though..) No tv's anymore..

All I mean is that a modified scoob can never be a daily driver..

Its more time looking at gauges and worrying about oil changes.
