Divide the litres by 4.546 to give you how many gallons you have used. Then divide the miles achieved by the number of gallons. Easy.
Your figures work out at approx 30.9 mpg. Give yourself a slap and drive it like it should be driven!

For ease of calculation, 50 litres is exactly 11 gallons.

The light should come on when 50 litres have been used with 10 litres being left.

Divide miles travelled since fill up by 11 and you'll get a rough idea of mpg.

Or use the google conversion facility e.g. type

27.75 litres in imperial gallons

into google and it will give you the answer in gallons, then just divide the number of miles you covered by this figure - I havent worked out if there is a direct way of getting mpg out of google, but I wouldnt be surprised... techies with too much time on there hands.

Cheers.

Just my work commute for past 2 days. Trying to cut down on my costs - been spending over £300+ per month on fuel I've managed to slash a 1/3 off.

27.75 litres = 27750 ml

1 pint = 568 ml

1 gallon = 8 pints

therefore 27750ml divided by 568ml (= 48.8556 pints) divided by 8 pints = 6.106 gallons

188.9 miles divided by 6.106 gallons = 30.93 miles per gallon

The 4.54...figure quoted by Mal is simply 1 gallon converted into litres as derived above!

Wilster.
