On no throttle and light throttle - that is fine.
On wide open throttle it should jump straight into the green zone and stay there till the throttle is released. If it doesn't, your car is lean and needs sorting before it goes bang

BANG Now't like scaring a chap is there Green or Bang in Bruns car
Green or top end of Amber in Mikey's car and No Bang for 3 years now (Admittedly only the last three months or so with an AFR)
I get the no throttle and light throttle knight rider thing going on That's why I bought it, cool as, at night
A more relaxed method of using the AFR is ignore it unless you are flooring it, if the indicator light is anywhere past the 1 o'clock position, all is ok.
If it's not, excercise some mechanical sympathy, get home and check the wiring first. It will probably be that combined with a poor earth. If it's not that, take it to a dealer/ garage. You will be able to drive it, just don't ask the engine to be sustain high revs for long periods.
There that's better isn't it, as opposed to NO GREEN = BANG

Extreme comment, but the fact of the matter is - the green zone is the target and if mine wasn't going there, i'd want to know why. Bang was maybe a little strong, but we are talking about an import so i'd want to be extra careful.
A knocklink is probably a more useful gadget to detect impending "bang"
