Question

Hi all,

I am seriously considering going for the Prodrive Spring Kit for my Sti8 mainly due to the info/feedback on the board and a desire to fix/minimise the bounce. I’ve also concluded that the best place to get the work done is the Scooby Clinic, due to a personal recommendation, feedback on the board regarding their expertise and quality of work and price. However my dealer is hinting that by having Scooby Clinic, or any third party fit the Prodrive Spring Kit I would invalidate all, or part of my warranty.

So my question is, does anyone know what exactly the situation is regarding having an approved Subaru or Prodrive part/kit fitted by someone other than an official dealer and my warranty?

Many thanks for the help.

Total B****X, approved parts fitted elsewhere invalidate the warrantry, so as soon as you change the original tyres you don't have a warrantry!!!. The parts would have to be fitted incorrectly and cause damage the subject of the warrantry claim. Your dealership want the work and are trying it on

Yer that’s exactly what I said, but the hint was that if I subsequently wanted to claim for any problems with the suspension under the warranty Subaru UK/IM wouldn't touch it!!

I’ve tried contacting IM but never get a proper response. Don't suppose anyone has a good contact at IM that could help clarify the matter?

My Springs were fitted by TSL.

My dealer had no problem with that

Your dealer is just trying to drum up some business for themselves. They're talking crap re: warranty. Anyone can fit new springs - it's almost impossible to get wrong!
