My mate keeps on about some guy who wants to see just how fast his Pulsar GTIR is,and to do that he wants to race my 94 wrx!He has'nt had his moter RR but reckons its around 300bhp.Now i know these little ******* are quick any way(0-60 5.4 standard)cause i was gonna get one myself but dont like small cars much!I said that i might give him a go when i get my scooby ecu fitted if he is lucky but which do you think would be faster?
MY 94 wrx....dump valve full sys de-cat zorst samco hoses and induction kit.....always run on optimax with a squirt of octane booster.............260-265 BHP ? ?

Tell your 'mates mate' to get it RR'd and to do some RWYB days to find out how 'fast' his car is and not to 'race'with another driver (different ability etc) on the public roads!

at the end of the day the scooby and pulsar are essentially built to do the same job, if one is running 250bhp and the other 300bhp the result is a forgone conclusion.
off the line theres nothing that can touch the pulsar (ive heard that it'll out drag a maclaren F1 in 1st), ive been to rwyb days and with a decent lauch 1.6sec 0-60ft times are possible (a redline lauch really lifts you out the seat ), with a 1 bar car (0.7 standard) 280-300bhp depending on set up can pull high 12's qtr mile. admittedly i've got 272bhp and only managed a 13.3 but confident with more than 3 runs under my belt i could do better.
once up and running theres not going to be much in a similar spec car, ive raced a few scoobs; once from 20-140+ and there was absolutely nothing in it...he i suspect had the same stage one mods as me, he certainly had a straight through system with that luvvvverly boxer note (but i do prefer the pops and bangs accompanied by the odd flame that my car makes )
but once on the twisties, well...
edited to add: my cars at the bottom of p.38 in dec issue of banzi done at santa pod's jap performance day- with the GTR plate dragging my mate...and winning once again

I run 295 bhp at Power Engineering the other week with de-cat, hks spf air filter and a scooby ecu so it might be closer than you think. Proof of figures in the southern thead.

I ran against one at Santa Pod and he reckons his was pushing out 330BHP. Mine is running around the 300 mark (STi5).
His time 13.1, mine 13.4
The moral of the story is watch 'em (and I agree they're fookin' ugly!!)
