Cheap to run or not?
#1
Lots of posts say impreza are expensive to run, they are, but i have had far worse from lesser cars.
Suzuki Vitara (i know) cost more to run than my scoob that why i ditched it.
All in all, with the reliability and performance set against parts prices / running i dont think they are that bad.

I agree the running costs are not too bad and i can live with the insurance. It's when i found scoobynet that the problems started.
Now i can't even log on with out checking the for sale section for my next mod first!!
Please don't tell me i'm the only one.

Expensive to run, but not anymore then my Transit i've been running around in for work and social use for some years.
Insurance the same, tyres about the same and servicing no more then my Tranny.
Average about 22mpg in Scoob and 30mpg in Tranny...so save there a bit and the van runs on cheaper diesel.
However, i get called a pikey in the Transit and a pimp in the Scoob. ....so i can't win either way.

Like many things I guess - horses for courses.
MPG about the same as my 206 GTi.
Tyres, dunno yet but used to shred a set on the Pug in under 20K (Goodyear F1 205 x 45).
Servicing is more often than for the Pug, Pug was every 20K, but the 40K service cost £750 (worn a set of front discs out as well as the shocks). Prices quoted by my dealer for a service suggest the servicing costs in a year will be no worse than the Pug.
Insurance is about £40 a year LESS than the pug for some reason.
I have 2 years warranty on the Scoob as well so all in all I don't think it is too bad really, but ask me again in 12 months
