Just had me a damn good 145mph thrash against these other two an hour ago. I was very suprised on the 120 mph+ pickup on the RX8 and was glad for the other traffic getting in the way and slowing him down, . Against the TT at that speed my WRX had only a slight advantage over the TT - unfortunately!

 

Was this on the motorway? How did it compare at lower speeds?

akshay, it was on the Autobahn here, so that pretty much answers your post too jjones
I don't know how it would compare at lower speeds - they came past me at about 110 mph, so I nailed it and overtook to see how it would compare. The TT who was between me and the RX8 did seem to run out of grunt a bit, which unfortunately held up the RX8. I have the feeling that the RX8 would give a Subaru a damn good go, if not beat it. Subarus just aren't made for Autobahns

I think you are right about Autobahns. My experience with imprezas (uk -> 280) show that they are an effective straight line weapon, but only in the first three gears. Mind you, may a different story with the 350+ monsters

 

Autobahns are dangerous places! There are some serious vehicles lurking about on them! The bigger Audis and BMWs are seriously fast and aren't worth bothering with unless you want a good bitch-slapping! (Different story if I'm on my blade, though
