was down at the garage getting some munchies last night, when i seen a lovely example of a classic impreza, it was a WRX with Hooped spoiler and lexus lights. was slightly thisheartened when i seen that it was a bunch of low life ******** who couldnt have been any older than 18-19. usually like to talk to people with nice scoobies but these bunch were loud mouth arsebiscuits

From: Your home is worthless. You can't afford to run your car.Your job is on the line.Schadenfreude rules.
All a matter of taste- I think lexus lights, clear repeaters etc look stupid as f**k. Others like them, it's all down to personal taste. That said lots of neds do seem to be keen on the oversized spoiler/lexuslights side of things. Good luck to 'em but I don't think they should kid themselves about the image it's playing up to.

the reason they have lexus lights is cos they can do a hand-me-up to the scoob from their nova's.
...only joking! Each to his own i guess. I think the STI lights on my classic look old-fashioned, but im not changing 'em cos personally i dont think the lexus lights look better, and i'd rather my car be standard anyway!

I have still got the std side/bumper repeaters on my scoob, think they look better than all the clear ones floating around, anyway think how rare they will be soon once everyone has clear ones!!! could be on the antiques roadshow in a few years

If an 18 year old is prepared to pay for his insurance then good luck to him!
B4 someone says he probably hasnt got insurance, let me just say that I used to get pulled over by the police in my starlet 1.2 gl when I was 18, so you can bet he gets pulled over all the time in his wrx, and I bet he doesnt come on here and moan about it, cause he's out enjoying owning/driving his car respect to the guy

If you are in full time employment at 18 chances are you take home at least £250 per week and still live with Mummy & Daddy with house prices being so high.
£300 for the car loan (all figures per month)
£100 for insurance
£100 rent for Ma & Pa
still leaves you plenty of dough for Optimax, booze and clothes.
What's the problem, if you can get a Scoob at 18 good on yer.
People seem to be stuck in a time warp, these cars are not worth much more than the average family saloon now.

Insurance needs to be a bit higher Danny.
I look like a teenager... does that count LOL.
Mine is
£250/mo car
£170 insurance. !!!
However I also spend £300+ on fuel as I have a 80mile round trip. That'll be me not affording to leave home then!! My works pay crap!

I got my impreza at 19, now 20. I bought it not mummy or daddy and i pay the insurance for it. Danny B, tell me where i can insure it for 100 a month. wish i could lol. Got to agree bout the lexus lights not keen and i aint got a max power sunstrip either. Madjay whats wrong with an 18/19 year old having a scooby, if you can manage it at that age why not. mines a classic turbo, love the car. Glad i bought it young, if i left it later i would probaly no of got one cus of buying a house etc.
Sounds like the guys you were describing were arseholes but dont tar us all with the same brush.
Cheers Chris

OK perhaps £1200 per year was being optimistic, but the point I was trying to make was that even if insurance was £2,500 per year (£200 per month) you would still have a few quid left over each month, albeit not much
Scoobs are now freely available to the under 20's if you still live at home, which I recommend you do for as long as possible
(I'm 30 by the way, and I still struggle to run my MY00, that's what a mortgage does to you)

they were a bunch of arseholes, that was really the point, i usually like talking to scooby owners but these are letting the side down acting like yobo's

im 18 and got quoted £5800 a year to insure a SPORT, never mind a turbo. thats almost £500 a month.
i dont want to sound bitter about it but the only ways anyone my age or similar can drive a turbo are; obscenely generous parents, they havent insured it, they nicked it, or they just happen to be earning silly-money (very long shot)
my guess is that its daddys turbo and they have borrowed it to impress the girlies because if my dad had one i would be sorely tempted as well.
