Downpipe

Just fitted a de-cat downpipe to my 1992 Impreza WRX, on removing the old pipe I noticed it had a sensor after the cat. There is no provision on the de-cat pipe for this sensor, is the sensor needed or is it possible to kid the ecu. Cheers
