PPP Version
#1
I had PPP fitted to my STI7 in November this year. Automatically assummed this would give me 300bhp. However I have just found out that there are different versions as follows:
PPP v1 = 305bhp (the original)
PPP v2 = 311bhp (released perhaps mid 2003??)
PPP v3 = 320bhp (released April 2004)
How can I check which version was fitted to mine ?
Also when they fitted my PPP they replaced the fuel pump with a larger one, didn't realise this was part of the package.

The original PPP for the STi7 came with an ECU modified by piggy-backing some new chip onto the original, unichip?? It did not include an uprated fuel pump. I know 'cos I had one of the first.
When the STi8 PPP came out, same engine as the STi7 remember, they'd moved onto using a ecutek modded ECU and it included a fuel pump.
At this time the original PPP'd STi7's were recalled for an uprated fuel pump.
From some time around then any subsequent PPP on STi7's used the ecutek modded ECU's rather than piggy back modded ECU's and presumably included a fuel pump.
So there are at least two different "versions" of STi7 PPP, both are quoted with the same performance, 305ps rather than 305bhp actually, I think 305ps is approx 301bhp.
You can see this on the prodrive webpage which has details of the STi8 PPP and quotes identical performance figures to the current STi7 PPP and is the same as originally posted for STi7 in the original piggy back days. What they actually produce I have no idea.

Yeah,
Cause if it's coming out, I want an upgrade from my exisiting PPP STi7 to this new version....
I'd like to see an official comment from Prodrive too.

I do know prototypes of the STI7 PPP ran in excess of 300Bhp quite nicely, and that it was detuned for warranty purposes. Maybe the powers that be decided the warranty issues were less than expected.
However, it does sound on the face of it like they were thinking of the USA version
