What boost does the standard MY99 Impreza Turbo run?

Only reason I ask is that I had a run with a guy who also has a MY99 running 16psi and I was keeping up with him, and actually starting to catch up with him in 3rd and 4th gears...

Now if the standard Impreza runs 16Psi, then it would it be cause I have a FULL de-cat and he doesnt, if not then how the hell was my car keeping up with him??

I was sold the car at a main dealer, with de-cat, induction kit full bilstein suspension kit and 17" prodrives (he was on 16's too) the dealer never mentioned any ECU changes, if there have been any...

Any help greatly appreciated..................

Cheers,
Grant

decat will raise boost this why people do it to get more power, the PPP includes a partial decat. If you hit 1.2bar (17.5psi)then it will stop as the fuel cut comes in on the uk

Grant, when i asked TSL what boost a UK car should be running at,they said 14psi.Regarding your run against the other scoob well my brother has a MY98 UK car with scoobysport centre section, firestorm backbox and blitz induction kit, he came up against a wrx full exhaust (turbo back),induction kit and i know thi car well and it couldn't pull on the uk car and you read comments unfairly slating uk cars !

Brian, no one was slating uk cars. just pointing out that JDM cars come with more power than a std UK car.

Misty i realise know one on this thread was slating uk cars but a few nights ago someone started a topic saying how the uk car seemed to be on a different league to the JDM's maybe the STi's you could voice that opinion but thats about it!i own a JDM myself but at the end of the day we're all on this for one thing SUBARU,wheither uk or jdm(not trying to ruffle anybodys feathers).

grant your scoob is defo quicker than a standard one - it's quicker than the ex-silver one we were discussing the other night and that allegedly had 270ish.

thats why i asked how did you feel your car performed at the meet.
your car also boosts quickly for a scoob - i'll explain when we next see each other as i did pay close attention to your car's performance now that i may have "some" competition.

u been out in the snow tonight - awsome ballet!

ps
with boost, decat, exhuast u do need an apexi ...

take care dude!

Thanks guys...

I am planning to get the thing on the Rollers at the end of January just so I can see what it is actually putting out!!

Nyquist, yeah me, Benny and Melly (in his GT4) were out @ B&Q....................for about an hour!!

It was great fun, and drew quite a crowd, about 8 cars turned up to have a wee watch and a play as well. I was gonna ring you but got a new phone (same number) and didnt have your mobile number on my SimCard so couldnt get in touch!!

You'll have to talk to me about what you think of my car mate......

Have a good one tonight everyone!!

Cheers,
Grant

You cant really equate UK car and JDM cars on boost pressure as the turbos are different. UK cars run TD04/05 and the later JDMs run IHI VF series turbos.
