anyone know why my sti has a pink grill badge, my mates type-r has a red one?

maybe the previous owner didn't like pink, so took the badge off, sanded down the paint and repainted it red?

could be any number of reasons, not seen anything on it being a particular feature of a vehicle to have different coloured badging from the manufacturer.
