Would you adam and eve it,off we went to Ashdown Forest to see if we could find winnie the pooh, and as soon as we got out of the car dear old Markus discovered that some bugger had nicked his valve caps, nice ones they was too!
So me and the girls had to put up with him going on about the buggers that could have done this, all the way around the Forest!!!!
Any one that can help him to get some more will be liked forever so if you know of where to buy some let us know,or he'll never stop moaning!

Cheers SuzyQ

Suzy, call Demontweeks on 01978 664466. You can get flashy logo valve caps for about £12 (set of 4) and normal chromed ones for about £6 (set of 5).

Cheers

Chris

Thumbs up

Yep had the same problem in the car park at Blue water (although i can't believe it was the squirrels on a shopping trip). The toe rags left me with no alloy caps and a flat right rear.

I decided not to replace with exspensive ones and purchased a set of metal ones rather cheaply from Halfords. And guess what! Yep even one of those went walkies.

Marcus , mine were the locking hexagon headed ones,You can only get them off with a spanner thingy...They went missing as i said in a car park at Blue water.

Made the cardinal sin and didn't check the tyre pressures before a track day at Donni the next day and nearly spanked it off in to the Craner curves.Found my right rear had only 23 in it against the 30 it had before the jokers tampered with the caps.

S**t! I meant to go and check the pressures yesterday, I'll do it today without fail, don't want the scooby to end up in a ditch due to these buggers!

grr, if I ever find out who did it, even if they were just have in laff, I'll cause them some serious harm. As John T in Pulp Fiction said 'Don't F**k with another man's automobile, it's like an unwritten law'

Scrappy,

Have you reported that? Could be seeing your plates in a robbery or highspeed tomfoolery...

Just being silly here, but why not fit a nice new set of boring, cheap, uninspirational, functional, uninspiring, undesireable black plastic valve caps? I suspect they will be left alone to do their job, and will probably even give you a bit of a weight saving into the bargain.

Moray, once again you are a very helpful chap. I'm off to halfords tonight, and so I'll probably pick up a few sets cheap n nasty set of covers. The 'few sets' being in case some git decides to nick them again. I might actually go for metal ones and then wire them up to the battery, might give the gits a little suprise.

I'm also thinking about leaving maggie in the car, as they'd not see her due to the blacked out rear windows, plus she'd bark like crazy when they get too near, and she has a rather nasty bark for such a cute little puppy!

Sorry to disapoint you, but when I had my Rover 220 Coupe I had my black plastic dust caps stolen along with everyone elses in the street.

While we are on the subject of having things stolen from cars my Uno Turbo had the badge stolen from the back (They broke it in half trying and left it on the floor). It Also had the bulb stolen from the front indicator, they ripped the cover off and left the remains on the floor.

When I had my Peugeot 205 Gti I parked next to another 205 in a car park. When I came back I discovered the git had swapped over wiper blades so I had to go and buy some new ones as they were knackered.

Suppose it's better than having a nice big keymark down the side though...

Mine's a similar story, washed the cossie at the weekend, valve caps all present and correct, and didn't use the car all weekend. Went to work today (where the car is actually outside the office window), and upon leaving the office this evening all valve caps missing in action. Not the first time and probably won't be the last.

Didn't think about the squirrels, mind you I have to say that the dog was looking a bit sheepish you know, white and fluffy, instead of silver grey!!!

Mossman, don't know what you mean about Rusthall, nothing has gone missing off of my car,oh! infact I'm wrong,a rear valve cap went for a walk...no it didn't I remember,I forgot to put it back on and now it has had to go in to the big wide world on its own...I hope that its ok.

Let's hope that Markus has got some cheap nasty ones(they will look just right) and he won't get so upset about them getting nicked next time!

Cheers all for your help SuzyQ

Situation back to normal. Went down halfords and picked up a set of nasty black plastic caps. Thanks to all who replied.

Would like to apologise about SuzyQ's comment about the merest possibility that the scooby is tacky! She's not very well at the moment and that could well be imparing her judgment

I don't get this 'nicking number plates' thing. If you were to nick someones number plates, then they would alert the police. For an armed robber or the suchlike to conceal the identity of a car, I'm sure they'd just write down the registration number of a similar car and then get the plates made up. The original owner would never suspect.

I reckon they were nicked for laughs.

I did report the missing number plate episode - 5 weeks later got a call from the police to say they had turned up in an allotment not far from where the car was parked when they went missing. Just some kids arsing about - what satisfaction they got out of it I don’t know!?

You mean you have to <I>buy[/i] plastic valve caps? I though the idea was just to drive up to any garage air pump and pick a few off the floor!

I do agree with you about sussex, they probably wouldn't know where a valve cap was...inbreeding is a bad thing.

It could have happened in essex, but they wouldn't just take the caps, they'd take the whole wheel!!!!
