Impreza WRX s CTR

Assuming you mean a Honda Civic Type R
Stats are:
Manufacturer's figures
0-60mph (sec) 6.8
Max speed (mph) 146
Unlikely the CTR would win to 60 at least, after that hard to say. Still reckon on the twisties the Scoob would be quicker. Main issue with the Hondas is you have to get the revs out to where most other cars red line before you get any power.

i raced one of these things, in the interests of science of course , the road had just had a little skiff of rain. both of us at the lights, i looked at him, he looked at me, green light, i took of like a bat outta hell and was 400 yards down the road before his wheels stopped spinning
1995 wrx TD05 running 1.1 bar, his a$$ was grass m8. even in the dry i reckon the torque steer would make this a difficult car to get off the line.
cheers
big sinky

IMO the scoob would win...
CTR is a capable FWD car, with good handling, and a decent turn of pace, iVTEC means that its not such a harsh change over to VTEC as there was in ITR. Also, dyno graphs prove that there is a steady power band before the 'tec kicks in, giving a decent pick up before hitting "the zone" but after that, the car does take off.
Twisties, IMO, it would take a great driver in the CTR to beat an average driver in the Scoob...
Cheers,
Grant

Off the line the Scoob should have it, but a word of warning. My MY93 WRX when it was running ~250bhp had a couple of plays with CTR's and a Clio 172. From 50mph rolling starts the Scoobs don't pull out as much as you would like to think

i had a go with one quite a while back i dropped from 5th to 4th when he tried to overtake and not a chance i started to pull away again these things adont seem that fast the s2000 is faster and i left that from 40mph up and usually scoobys dont fair that well when the cars are rolling. oh mines only a uk on about 260 bhp so you will blitz him

I have 280 gee gee's and had a straight line encounter from 20 up to 80 ish.
I would have struggled to pass him, but wasn't fully pushing it. I wouldn't fancy my chances in a standard Uk turbo.
From standing the 0-60 times speak for themselves...

The figures above are all nice, but the wrx is an english one with 215bhp, not the jap wrx we are talking about with 260bhp, not only that but the wrx is geared far lower than the uk models and hence the huge improvement on 0-60 and 0-100 times.

Indeed, but is it a JDM CTR ? I too am unbiased, CTR owner and huge Scooby fan (ex-owner). I wouldn't fancy my chances against a Jap WRX, no chance in fact. On the move up to 100 there wouldn't ge a great deal in it though, as with most cars in the same preformance bracket. But don't expect to 'slaughter' one.

You should compare UK to UK etc, or I could come along and say that that an Impreza kicks the CTR's ***, and be referring to a spec C. Not quite the same

Get a PPP on one and be down to 14.1 for the 0-100. BTW, prodrive recorded the 0-100 for the non-ppp at 15.9 ...
I'm sure mine is low 14s, even taking into consideration the speedo over-read.
PS saw your CTR a few weeks ago James, (Wises Lane).
fancy a run sometime?

I am "just around the corner", unfortunately I was in the low-profile non-scoob at the time, otherwise I would have waved.
Do you have an induction kit on your CTR? Anything else to declare?!

Cool, not seen many MY03's around locally yet. I live just around the corner from where you saw me
Yep, Blitz Sonic Induction, Magnex backbox and custom straight through centre pipe . . ooh and GReddy rad cap and Mugen Oil cap (good for another 25bhp ). Plus enough ICE to reverse any performance increase
Drop me a mail sometime, we can compare notes
Edit: How do you know my name ?
