Hi all,

Great site, first of all, and I'm sure I'll get some great advice in the future.

Just moved to Dubai from leafy Buckinghamshire and I'm seriously considering getting a WRX/STI.
I've been given a shed of a Pug 406 Coupe 3.0V6 to drive for the time being, but in a few months I can get whatever I want.

There are a million, Beemers, Mercs & Porsches but I have seen just 1 WRX!

Does anyone know what spec it'll be here? Is it Jap, UK, US or something else? It'll be a left hooker but that is all I know at the moment.

Many thanks,

J

I have reliably informed that it's the US spec.

This means 300hp & 300lb/ft.

The figures quoted by the US site are 0-60 in 4.8 secs. Not bad.
Also with todays exchange rates (the Dirham is linked dirctly to the dollar)I could pick one up for about £18,500!

There's a Scooby dealership alongside the main road between Dubai centre and Jumeira beach, just in case you haven't seen it yet (though you probably have...).

Yes I have,

When I called them to ask about prices, spec etc... the bloke just laughed at me!

They don't sell the STI here and a WRX would take 6 months or so. That would explain why I have only seen one WRX. It almost makes me more determined to import one from the US.

Servicing would obviously be a problem but I'm finding out what the score is.

Mitsubishi don't sell the Evo here, Mazda don't bring in the RX8 and the only supposed Jap performance car sold here is the 350Z. I wanted something more spirited than that.
