I'm not as I only recently (sept) went from sti7 to sti8. I don't think the DCCD-A or an extra 15PS is worth it as I have 18s and PPP already.
DCCD-A would be nice, but in the real world i.e. on the M4, it's not going to make a blind bit of difference.
That and the fact it'll probably cost me 5k to change!!!

Matt I'm in the same position. I don;t think DCCD-A will make any difference(except easier for me to spin it) on the road. Tempted to go for a new STI-8 and PPP it later to 320ps

I Put a deposit down last week. I've had a P1 for 3 years+ and liked the spec of this one compared to what I have. ie. New shape, 6 speed, 320ps, suspension setup. Hopefully this one will turn up quicker than the P1 did! The only thing I don't like is the 4 doors, as the 2 door P1 body is reinforced.

the new age shell is stiffer than your P1's shell by quite some margin. The downside is it's heavier. Drive a DCCD-A equiped car before dismising the benefits it brings, even if you arent Petter Solbergesk in your driving use/style. One benefit is lower transmition losses = more power at the wheels = faster car, forgetting the other benefits.

Just what i have noticed when comparing 22B, TypeR/RA's to VC equipped cars like the normal STi's and UK turbo's on rolling road printouts. They seem to have slightly lower transmition losses around 15-20BHP on a 300BHP spec setup. I know its not very scientific but it makes sense to me if you look at how a VC diff transfers power compared to the DCCD design. One uses a jelly to pass the torque, the other uses gears (and when locked a clutch pack) to pass the torque.

Neil, John.
Not wishing to turn this into a technical debate but if you wind the diff fully open 65%R 35%F (Not locked 65/35) when you plant you foot doesn't the power go something like 90% Rear, therefore less transmission loss and faster acceleration?
Probably talking out me ar$e but that's what I was lead to believe.
Neil I drove a DCCD-A car before thinking about getting a JDM STi 9 and the difference in handling between my 50/50 bug eye and the DCCD car was stunning. Even leaving a motorway and coming off the rounabout it just feels so much more planted.
Nathan..

Went to R N Goldens today, he showed me the letter from subaru saying that all the dealers will get at least 3 WR1s, power expected to be 320 ps as it is still in development. He has sold one already and is going to have one as a demo. Considering that he said there is about 122 dealers that doesnt leave alot left, im sure some of the prodrive guys will have one even maybe mr solberg himself.

Northampton dealer (Westaway Motors) told me they have already sold all of their allocation (3 per dealer I understand) when I mentioned it on Saturday afternoon.

What's the concensus of opinion from delears, or anyone else, on when they will be available?
My dealer said they had 2 allocated, that they were already on a boat and they'd be in the dealers in early March. The announcement on the Subaru webpage says April.
Presumably the normal UK mods like Cat 1 and trackers need to be done after they reach UK. What about engine mods, suspension mods etc, presumably these need to be done by Prodrive after they reach the UK? How long does is all this likely to take?

Ah yes the Catalunya video. Saved somewhere in my downloads already
So thats when it's almost a pure RWD. I knew I'd heard it somewhere. Just took it in the wrong context
Looking forward to a DCCD as I prefer a RWD bias.
Cheers
