STI 7 v. P1
#2
Well, only 1,000 P1's were originally for sale, so I suppose it depends on whether 1,000++ STi7's have been sold??!!
It doesn't answer the question and is probably stating the bloody obvious, but I thought I would throw it in anyway...
Mark.

Correct...
The 750 Prodrive ones were just STI 7's with a high level spoiler, wrap-around fog covers and a few other cosmetic mods, badged as a Prodrive car.
There were no performance or handling mods done to it.
There were many many more "normal" STI 7's sold than the 750 Prodrive ones.

IIRC, there were actually 1000 Prodrive Style MY02 STi's made, IM bought 750 of them, the rest went to Importers like Litchfied Imports (this bit I am certain of) and some went to Europe in LHD guise (this bit I am less certain of).
That makes the P1 the rarest, just, but like the man said, probably at least the same amount again of non Prodrive Style cars were sold into this country as well.....

How much extra was charged for making the STI 7 a "Prodrive" version?
I wonder if the additional cost to the buyer truly reflects the actual cost of buying a spoiler and fog covers that are available from numerous outlets? lol
"Limited"?
Hardly

Have you ever priced up all those additional body parts individually? Somewhat more than the extra paid for the car over and above a non-prodrive edition.
"Limited", maybe not, but still a "rare" beast. I kinda like the idea of driving around and seeing another car like mine once a month if I am lucky .

The Prodrive Style rear spoiler is £900 alone - and that's before you buy the uprated bootlid torque bars to go with it!!
The replacement cost of the front bumper, covers and different grill is something like £1500, the blue dials are something ridiculous so yes, it was much cheaper to buy the Prodrive Style than to buy a "normal" STi and add on the bits yourself!!!!
