Hi everyone,
I've just gone from an STi V5 to a standard MY00 UK turbo.
I'm thinking of a upgrading to a little more power.
What is involved with a PPP and how much is it?
Also should I decat the exhaust, and which one is best?
Thanks for your help.

Cool

PPP is a Prodrive back box, intercooler pipe and remap. Usually retails at £1600, but on an MY00 with little/no warranty left you could do much better for your money. A TEK3 and TSL backbox would give better results for less £. I am a beginner in all this, but keep an eye on here and start going to a few meets and the knowlege soon builds. There's a real wealth of information, so tap into it and possibly save yourself a lot of time and money. There are thousands of mods out there, many are cr@p.

hi mate, how come you changed your cars that way round? must feel alot different going to the lower powered uk car?

anyways, i've got a ukMY99 and have just had a TEK2 remap done, end result was 277 BHP and 266 lbft. torque, don't know about the torque, but looking at the 'dynomite scoobies' pages this seems fairly similar to the wrx sti spec, so if you're after similar power to your old car this looks like the way to go (£587 on the group buy at the mo, £740 normally).

i've got a full magnex decat and itg filter and was advised with just these mods the TEK2 was a more sensible option, costwise, to the TEK3.

the remap is superb and has totally transformed the car, so if you're budgeting for a PPP, this will save you shed loads!

hope this helps.

Thanks for the info guys!
hoskib,
The STi was too good a car to be using for what I need - 50,000 Km on the clock and immaculate. I was adding too many miles and knocking the interior about too much due to work commitments.
I changed to the UK MY2000 to stop fretting about the miles etc.
I do like the sound of the TEK 2 though!
What's the score with the exhaust & filter - cost, fitting, availability etc?

Thanks

You could also go the UNIchip route, I had this done on my old WRX got 31bhp extra for £600 (£20 per BHP) and this was mapped to give 262bhp for 95 RON, which saved plenty on petrol costs

spufus,

virtually anyone will sell the magnex exhausts just have a look thru a max power, price wise a downpipe is about £195, centre section i think was £80 but i can't find a price and back box is £225.
i can't fault the fit of the magnex and for the money i can't fault it, but the 3 1/2" tailpipe looks a bit small compared to other stuff around, have a look around.
i got someone else to fit my downpipe as it can be a bit of a git if you're a muppet with the spanner like me! the centre section and backbox i managed ok. (must be easy then)
to get in on the group buy for the TEK2 you've got to be down by the end of jan, go for it you know it makes sense
