What do you guy's and girls think I should do??

![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Having gone to look an L reg Legacy turbo last week, which was sounding very cam-shafty, I am in a dilemma, could you please offer some advice??
I haven't got much in the way of dosh, so I'm thinking of doing up my Non turbo'd 2.0 Legacy. It's done 165k miles and is still running very smoothly, I love it as a practical/all-rounder, but I want to personalise it and make it sound less strangled, and possably some small but tasteful body mods.
However, I called Roger Clarke's last week and chatted with a very helpful guy called Simon, and he seemed to think that there were no companies in the u.k or any other after market parts company that does anything for non turbo Sub's.
Do any of you know or know of someone who has been successful in modding the exhaust system/body on an old shape Legacy??
A friend has a Jap import, which is quite different in quite a few ways and looks modern dispite it's age (G reg). I think it was a Prosport import?
Or should I just bite the bullet and nag the wife to let me sell mine and look for an import or a tarted u.k. car??
Please help.
Thanks in advance,
ATB
Pete

It sounds like you have a good motor there mate.
But I would think twice before modding it up when it has the mileage that it does. If you start playing with the emgine at this stage you might end up causing yourself a problem.
I would suggest you woo the wife and get another import estate.
Cheers

Thanks Martin,
Thing is, we've just bought a house, so as you might well understand, the "purse-strings" are not in my control....![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I was thinking more old shape..? Know what I mean![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

If you are sticking with Leggys, have a look at www.LegacyRegister.co.uk
On the subject on naturally aspirated engine tuning, also have a look at www.ImprezaSport.net

Did the N/A tuning thing when I had an Impreza Sport and still have a 1.8 Leggy...as well as a new Jap WRX![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Good luck with whatever you choose

As hard as it sounds.....I would honestly not bother spending a penny on a 2.0 N/A Legacy, particularly one that has coverd 165k miles (still a baby when you read about 300k plus examples
)
Put your head down and get settled with your house and do some research into the various specs going around for a couple of months...then buy yourself a Jap spec in the summer![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

IMHO of course![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Jon
Ps. get along to some local meets and have a look at what others drive so you know what you can get for your money![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Or if you do plan on keeping it and doing it up...
...my mate at work has a 2.0 legacy gl with an aftermarket exhaust.
Apparently its a magnex one but i don't know if it was an off the shelf job or one that was custom made for him by powerflow, the place he purchased it from.
It sounds really good, but if you have a powerflow dealer near you they should be able to make an exhaust for your car anyway.
I'm guessing that the engine in yours would be nearly identical to the one's in Impreazs so you could also get yourself a performance air filter/induction kit.![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Edited twice cos of spelling![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

theres an old H plate legacy flying around Wycombe which sounds better than most imprezas. huge `koff zaust system which sounds spot on perfect.
if you go to powerflow they will custom make whatever system you like with lifetime warranty and huge choice of tail pipes.
my advise though is.......if you can sell it and get yourself a turbo impreza, then do it. no matter how much you modified a non-turbo, it still wouldnt satisfy you completely, so you`d end up buying one anyway after spending money out on your current car.
look in the for sale section, cheap as chips turbo`s, saloon or hatchback.
I believe I have best of both worlds, a 5 door classic wagon with enough space for family/kids/dogs/shopping etc and 244 bhp to scare the local boy racers![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
