MY00 + PPP + VTA BOV = Problems?
#1
I'm due to be buying a MY00 with PPP soon (v.excited ). Its been run for the last 6-8 months with a Turbosense Supersonic VTA dump valve. I'm asking for it to be removed and the original be replaced before I drive the car away.
My post is really just to get some advice as to what I should do to check the VTA BOV hasn't caused any problems under the bonnet.
I've seen the car start successfully on first turn of the key and settle down to idle at 800rpm. No dodgy sounds as far as I could tell. Didnt seem to be any flat spots in the acceleration nor pops & bangs from the exhaust. Boost gauge was showing 1lb all the way throught the gears.
I'm probably being over-cautious but I've been reading so many horror stories on here I'm just about ready to go out straight away and replace the MAF sensor, get a knocklink, lambdalink, boost gauge etc etc lol. (may do the MAF sensor anyway for my own piece of mind).
Could one of the Scooby specialists often discussed here do any checks to see if my PPP is performing correctly after 6 or so months of (possibly) incorrect fuel/air mixture readings?
Any comments /tips would be greatly appreciated.
